Please Help... Sugar just had a dead puppy that had no skin over its organs where its belly is Why could this happen? I got a nice bloodline from a friend, Any Ideas? |
Sorry, I have never seen this. You might want to snap a picture to take to the vet to see if he may know. |
A breeder will have a better idea. Some sort of birth defect. Don't think that you could have prevented this little one's death. I know that must have been upsetting to see if you weren't expecting that. Hang in there, an experienced breeder is sure to stop by here soon and fill you in! |
I'm so sorry your puppy died. It's called an omphalocele... http://www.blueknightlabs.com/articl...ies/index.html |
Any exposure to lawn chemicals or flea or tick repellants during pregnancy? Any more pups yet? |
Here's another link to a possibility, gastroschisis, which might be genetic. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gastroschisis |
While one is of a puppy....and the last is a human My thoughts are that it was a defect, obviously.......not sure about heredity though.....chromosomal possibly.....i would think age risk, environmental risk... kinda like when a human misscarriage....mine were chromosomal.....and not really any more risk than the average person......i would think the same thing in puppies.... Make sense? Sorry thinking aloud...... |

I was sure a pup would be born deformed. I was right. This lil boy had his gutts born on the outside. No arm and deformed tail. He feel asleep and died." sorry to hear about your lost.:( :( :( :cry2: |

I'm sorry you lost your puppy and sorrier you had to see that. How awful:( Is the mommy ok ??? Poor girl - she'll be missing her baby if that was the only one she gave birth too. |
I's sure it is nothing that you did or it was anything that could be pervented. Things like this happen in the animal kingdom all the time. Most often the mother will reabsorbe or spontaniously abort (miscarriage) this type of embryo. How ever some times deformed fetuses make it to birth then die shortly after. This same sort of thing happens in cattle and they just call it water belly. No one knows for sure why it happens, but it just does. Sorry it had to happen to one of us. How is the other pup doing? |
I'm so sorry. :( That's just an awful thing to see. I hope the mommy is ok. |
omg i am so sorry. were there any more pups |
