puppy milk for mother?
 
is it okay to give my little mommy puppy milk...i have a feeling she doesnt have enough of something?...i didnt have cottage cheese so i gave her ricotta cheese just a teaspoon and she ate all of it in a second...she has chicken, ham , rice, and american cheese all to choose from but she isnt eating anything...the last she ate was this afternoon ham but threw up some...

Absolutely. I give mine Esbilac for 2 weeks after delivery. Longer if needed.

I cant believe youre feeding HAM and RICOTTA CHEESE! Please....feeding any animal only takes common sense!!!

Mix up baby rice cereal, goats milk and puppy wet food into a blender make it like soup and use a turkey baster to feed her as well give her AMERICAN cheese, cottage cheese and vanilla yogurt, small bowls of goats milk several small meals a day; always leave dry puppy food and fresh water in her feeding area!

she loves ham though and it never hurt her tummy...and the doc usually lets me give her ham....??...i gave her ricotta cheese bc it was the middle of the night and she wasnt eating the american cheese so i figured i will try that i only gave her a lil and she was fine with it...i will try the baby rice cereal and all but i will try to let her eat it on her own bc she will attack me if i try to force feed her im lucky if i can pet her now that she has the pups...she also drank a lil esbilac milk but not much...she seems to pant when all the pups are drinking milk at the same time today...sorry i seem to keep making mistakes but i am trying my best and the doc told me to give her wateva she wants as long as shes eating and taking care of the pups

Just a thought, but is it possible that she's too warm? Are they all on a heating pad?

no pork products ever....chicken..turkey, rice, yogurt, cottage cheese...fine
never ever ham.

Best of Luck to you. I can only imagine how much work and love you are providing. It sounds like you are truly trying to do the very best. Keep up the good work and PLEASE come to YT for ANY questions or concerns, b/c there are so many wonderful and expereinced members here that seem to be more than willing to HELP you out!!! The MOST important thing you need to be worried about it keeping the new Momma and her babies healthy. :) :) :)

Do you really find it necessary to be so rude to people that are asking questions. You simply could have answered the persons question and then stated that you should not feed your dog ham. I didn't know that, and I'm sure alot of other people on here did not know that either. You don't have to imply that the person has no common sense becasue she didn't know that.

Ya know, it's awfully funny to me that so many people are so quick to jump on K (and others) for being "rude," when people post in this section with their questions and concerns, yet and still, when the pups are being born and people are panicking and posting and pleading for help...WHERE ARE YOU GUYS AT THEN? Despite how she you may take her, she'll turn right around and stay up all night with the same person she was "rude" to earlier, either on the phone, online or in person to help them out. HAVE YOU?
To be honest, it is really frustrating to see Kimberly and others shot down for being honest and not sugar coating things, but when the hardships of breeding come along SHE and OTHERS are the only ones left around trying to help the person out, SHE'S the one that's posting her home number while all of a sudden, none of the people calling her "rude" can find anything else to say then.:mad:
