Luna is looking for a Stud in Oklahoma or surrounding states
 
Afternoon all Luna is looking for a stud we are looking to breed in september so i am starting my search now.
Here is what we are looking for
AKC male stud with a clean bill of health
Weight:4lbs or under
Coloring: any but would really like a black and gold (luna's daddy was black and gold hoping for atleast one dark puppy)

Location is Oklahoma City, OK would prefer someone close but also acceptable are TX, KS and AR

hey there! I live in northwest arkansas and have a male named Gizmo. He will be a year old on June 15th. He weighs 3lbs, 4 oz. And he is so cute! He is APR registered, and I also have a three generation pedigree. He is completly up to date on all his shots, and has been Vet checked for any defects. PM me if you are interested. Thanks heather i will put you on my list of possible's we are really looking for an AKC male at the moment but we are leaving all doors open :)

wish I were closer. My ceeby weighs 3.4 also. but he is blue and gold. i am having him testedto be a stud in a couple of weeks.

i just hate that you haven't found your stud yet. Ceeby is available but is too far away and he is steel blue/gold. I know you wanted a darker one.

At this point i just want a healthy male color was just an if i had many to choose from kind of thing :) I had no idea it was going to be this hard to find a stud. We have one guy who is willing to but wants pick of the litter and that makes me a bit uncomfortable

Reuger is a little bigger than you're looking for but we live in southeast Kansas. He's 5 lbs. and AKC registered. He's very healthy and has the sweetest personality.

Please make sure to bile acid test both male and female before breeding, to ensure they do not have liver shunt, mvd, or the ability to pass both on. If your post fasting number is lower than 20 (preferably even lower) you can feel safe you are probably not carrying the disease (animals can carry problems and show no symptoms, but pass them on to offspring)..if higher than 20, please spay or neuter your dogs, as they are not healthy dogs for breeding. Also, vets need to evaluate patellas, hearts, tracheas, etc. to determine a dog is healthy for breeding. Do not breed dogs with greater than grade 1 luxated patellas, and preferably NO luxations. Just some food for thought for both sire and dam owner before deciding to breed...once it's done, there's no going back.

Thanks for the info i need all i can get and yeah i have had luna to the vet to have all her check ups to make sure its safe for breeding wouldnt want the puppies to be unhealthy or to add any trauma to luna that would make her ill.

That's great.. was one of them a test you had to fast her overnight for? A blood test? If no, that one is VERY IMPORTANT...called a bile acid test.

The tests that Becki mentioned are highly recommended. There are others than need to be done, you must have a smear done. Some breeders feel that isn't necessary, however, your little girl can pick up infections without having ever been bred. Eccoli, staph and so on. These can hinder her from conceiveing, but worse yet is concieveing and absorbing puppies, aborting and or having puppies being born with defects.

Good info Mary! I forgot to think of Brucellosis with her being a "virgin"..but yep, you're right, can pick it up without actually having sex... Male needs to be tested too, as this is primarily a doggie STD.

Brucellosis needs to be checked for, but not as prevelant today as it use to be, but it will ruin any dogs breeding career. Expecially if the lil girl in question is a virgin. However, I do know of Eccoli and staph being picked up, especially by yorkies who are allowed go be what they are, dogs. Playing out side, jumping in ponds, etc.
