Looking for a girl...I have questions..... I am trying to line up a yorkie and would like to have a couple breeders as backups. I am wanting a female, around 4 pounds, black, silver (or is it blue) and gold. I also want the babydoll face. If you go to babydollyorkies.com and look under daddies, you will see a male named alfie. He is exactly what I am looking for but her prices are really high. Does anyone know of any other breeders producing yorkies like him for a reasonable price? Also if I am wanting the silver and gold mixture on the face what kind of parents should I be looking for? |
I don't know about the colors around the face but if you're looking for a breeding size female 4 lbs might be to small. |
NO I don't want a breeding dog. I know nothing about breeding and prefer to leave that to the people that know what they are doing. I want a pet for me and a companion for my Maltese. The Yorkie I get will be spayed at six months of age. |
Cindy, you need to go to www.YTCA.org and read up on the standard. The first preparation you need to make in buying a puppy is knowing exactly what you need to be looking for. 2. Make sure whatever puppy you buy is bile acid tested against liver shunt, and so are the parents. 3. Don't buy any puppy less than 12 weeks old. Yorkies are not cheap. It takes a LOT Of time, effort, energy and money to successfully raise a litter of puppies, not to mention the quality of the parents, and generations behind them. While you are on the YTCA site, you will find a list of reputible breeders who may have puppies for a Non-Breeding home. After you arm yourself with information, that is a great place to start your search. One peice of advise, don't start your conversation with HOW MUCH..You won't get a good response. Quality, health, and "the look" you are wanting is not cheap, nor can any ole BackYard Breeder produce it. |

If you don't mind me asking what price range are you looking for? I know a couple breeders in Ohio. |
Dazzlin, Thanks for the advice:) . With the price I didn't bring it up. I asked about litters coming up and such and after we disscussed that she said her Females were 2000.00 a up. Princessyorkie, I have one breeder that I am hoping for so far in Ohio. If she has a female available when I am ready I will probably buy from her. I want backups just in case and to keep my options open. I think the more you talk with breeders the more you learn. When I bought my Maltese I'm sure I talked with at least 20 breeders and I can say I learned something from them all. I think the highest my BF would allow me to spend would be 2000. but, He would prefer me to stay closer to 1000. I see the yorkie in your aator has some silver in it. If you wouldn't mind can you tell me about that yorkie, if you recommend the breeder and such. |
