I think my Yorkie might be pregnant????? But the vet says it's too soon to tell. She will have an x-ray in 2 weeks to be sure. When do the teats start to swell or other signs begin. I'm very nervous. Thanks. |
signs and wonders Around 2 to 3 weeks, some barf yellow foam a few times..easy to miss. 5 to 6 weeks the belly will begin to enlarge. Teats will swell at bit from 5 weeks on..bitches are different..the vet is your best friend now..have a number close for an emergancy, day or night. PS..don't over or underfed, diet is important, no calcuim pills before whelping, natural calcium in food is advised, feed puppy food, prepare a bed for her, keep her groomed, clean, parasite free. Good Luck |
My annabelle just had her first litter today. She didn't start showing until she was around 40-45 days and it was very little. She never got really big. She had 4 pups. If you know of when the hook up was then within a 5-6 weeks you should be able to see change. I had an xray done at 53 days. It showed all of the pups so I knew what to expect. Good Luck and be patient. |
Ttreatsyorkies- Congratulations on your new litter! How are mom and puppies? Did everything go smoothly? Did you get boys and girls? Too many questions, I know. |
I think my Yorkie is pregnant???? WOW - You guys are awesome. Thank you for all the tips. I did notice some yellow foaming "stuff" but I blamed it on my cats. And it still may have been them. I just wish I knew for sure. I know the exact day she mated, however, I'm still not sure the little guy hit the mark. He sure was trying and she was willing, but I honestly didn't see them getting "locked up". Although they weren't in my view the whole time. Geez- it was easier having my own kids. I'll keep you posted. Again, thanks for all the support. Barbara |
Annabelle had 3 girls and 1 boy. They are all doing great. I love having the new babies around, and so do my kids. |
