you can't sell "anything" on ebay...like you can't sell animals, human fluids, organs, children, but there's quite a few doozies... like "friendship" for 10k or buy it now for 25k; potato chip with an image of jesus; advertisement on a man's forehead in the form of a tattoo for a year; yeah... weird stuff. |
Hi Ladies, Thank you so much for all your wonderful kind words. Just so you know I have been breeding Chow Chows for 5 years and am very successful at it. We use only the top bloodlines and use only Artificial insemination for all of our breedings. Now that we we are also breeding Yorkies, we offer stud service and do both local and ship out chilled semen to those who can not find a stud in their area. So as you can see there is nothing weird or obscure at all about my add, and that is why my add on ebay has been reinstated. We have many successful breedings this way and have helped a lot of breeders with their breeding programs. Everything we do is very professional and we have a contract that guarantees many things as well a a 2nd free stud service if their bitch doesn't take. I accept your apologies in advance. I am sorry but you all act very uneducated. There is no difference in putting an add in a newspaper for a puppy for sale or a stud service, then putting an add up on ebay...get with the times ladies!!!! its not like I'm auctioning a dog that is obviously wrong. For your information I am a very reputable breeder, all my puppies have waiting lists 8 months long, and I have spent tons of money on some of the world's best bloodlines. |

PS. If you are so comfortable with your ad, stop defending yourself. |

Tried to edit and add this, but too late: If someone believes that this is an acceptable eBay practice, and they REALLY want your stud Yorkie semen (who I'm not doubting is beautiful), then nothing we say on YT will discourage them. But you saying nasty things personally to other members may hinder their decision. |
Eggs??? Well, guess my shock at this add really hit a nerve.....not sure why really???? My original post was exactly what I said......quite a shock....now does that make me uneducated????? I think not....in fact.....I too have a very nice degree, with many years in the medical industry......and yes....believe it or not......I too sell on Ebay......but.....not sperm.....nor eggs, although hubby may be willing to find some so I can have a little girl...lol ....nothing alive....and knowing what I do....medically......this is not something that I would choose to do.....dogs, or no dogs My opinion....I am intitled to it and so are the rest of you......remember, this forum is for opinions......like other things....we all have one! My 2 cents.... |

Spending tons of money on the "world's best bloodlines" means nothing. NOTHING. Who is determining that these bloodlines are the best? And even if they are the "best" it takes an ethical and educated breeder to take those and breed them appropriately so that what is produced is of equal or greater value. I hope this is a description of you! Just because one buys a RRoyce, doesn't mean that all that money spent gets you a "better" car than my 2006 Chevy HHR. It just means that yours cost more and has an image behind it that mine doesn't, but not for any good educated reason! Not an insult, just a point. By the way, I have NO PROBLEMS with selling semen over the internet. I think that if you were as ethical as you say that you would include stacking photos of the stud along w/ the semen offer. jm2c And welcome to YT! :aimeeyork ~Leslie (yorkieK9trainer) |

Any takers? Right. That goes towards your ethics. I've offered my stallions semen over the internet before, HOWEVER, before a transaction was done, the potential buyer had to submit information about the brood mare (photos/pedigree and veterinary documentation and ownership verification). I don't know if this person from "West Coast...Yorkies?" is doing this as well, since I've never looked, but if she's not, I wouldn't touch her w/ a ten foot pole. She's nothing more than a puppy miller at that point w/o having all the dogs on HER property. I find it hard to believe that she would have dogs of that calibre (or any dogs w/ a known kennel name attached to it) and would be so careless w/ who she actually SOLD to...forget who it's being offered to, it's those offers that she ACCEPTS that's peaked my curiousity. If word got out to those that sold her the dogs w/ the known kennel names of her practises, I'm sure someone would be bad mouthing her quite loudly and w/ a quickness. I've read nothing so far. |

I never said anything negative about this ad. I only justified the fact that canine semen is and can be shipped. I say sale and post where you want to. I have never put an ad in the newspaper so I don't have anything to say about that. Although I do not have the "world's best bloodlines" I have some very good one's and have worked hard; struggled and worked extremely hard to move beyond my own kennel blindness. I see alot of this blindness in many people's breeding dogs. Especially the one's I encounter over and over who are breeding tiny females. They may be within the standard yorkie wise (under 7 lbs) but is far out of MY standard and many other ethical breeders, breed wise. I also don't believe in selling semen to just anyone who may not have even researched our beloved breed. We all know where that leads. That is the one negative thing that I would have with selling semen on ebay. How would you know just who is getting your stud dog's sperm and what exactly they are doing with it? My dear friend and I have worked our tails off to produce the little stud I have now. NO way would I just put his semen out there for any tom dick or harry to aquire. Westcoastyorkies, All I can say to you is that I hope you will look a little deeper into your own program and remember that the best bloodlines in the world do not always produce the best pups. I say this from experience and my own one eyed assumptions. Best wishes to you and your fur kids. |
I think it's ridiculous to sell semen on Ebay. Sorry if you think I'm uneducated. Like others said, each person gets their opinion. I would never sell my dog's semen to someone over Ebay, without knowing EVERYTHING about the female dog and breeder. Maybe you do but the whole "Ebay" aspect of it just makes it seem like anyone can buy it. And I agree with Nicole, if you are so confident in it, there is no need to defend your program. This is just a place to share opinions. |
