Fist Signs Of Labour Just to say our yorkie (Toots) is showing first signs of labour 9pm uk time, (Panting , Restless and Been Sick A Few Times, think we are in for a long night..) She seems to be doing well so far , Its her first litter so we are a bit anxious especially as the ultra sound we did a couple of weeks ago indicated 5 possibly 6 pups to whelp. Gonna stay with her the whole time and not let her out of site. Will keep you all posted as to her progress as we may need a little help and advise at some point ... Paul & Claire Uk :) |

Hi Again little boy born at 11-15am uk time , he was a breach birth, but toots delivered him without any serious problems. She didnt want anything to do with him , so we had to intervene , breaking sac , cutting umbilical cord and rubbing him down, slowly but surely he started to come round and started moving and squeeling , what a lovely sound that was. At 2-15 the next one appeared but poor little toots stopped her contractions we didnt want to take any risks, so we made the decision to take her to the vets which is where she is now , think hes gonna give her Oxytocin to induce contractions. That was 2 hours ago , so we have to assume that everything is goin ok and hopefully the second one eventually came out ok. The vet said he would ring if there were any problems , so fingers crossed. No phone call yet.. :) Paul & Claire |
Update Just to let you all know that toots and her 5 pups are doing fine, 3 boys and 2 girls would have been 6 but we lost one during C-Section , too weak the vet said . 2 of them born naturally and 3 from C-Section We are just coming up to the 48 hour period and so far no problems , all are feeding ok and toots is the devoted mother we knew she would be. They are very big , unusually big the vet said , of course there is a smaller one (Boy) but he is doing really well , we've called him tiny. We are so relieved , we have had very little sleep and the period of time during C-Section was unbearable a very anxious time.We cant believe how well toots is doin now though, really proud of her. Thx to all of you who expressed there best wishes and congrats. Will post some pics asap.. Paul & Claire |
Ah bless her! I know how she feels i too have delivered normally and been c-sectioned  Glad she is ok :D |
