C-SECTION QUESTION for long time breeder??? Here is a question for the longtime breeders… I read this here or somewhere.. If your female has to have a C-Section …you should save one of the placentas. When mom is get ready to come to,.. Wipe a little placenta on one of the pups bottom ..then place pup and the placenta at the females rear. She will wake up.. smell , eat the placenta and should start clean the pups. It was said the female will accept the pups better this way. Any thoughts or anyone ever tried this ??? |

this is the first i heard of it . but when china had her pups c section 2 weeks ago she did just fine, but we had to get up every two hours and make sure she would feed the puppies and the vet told us not to leave them with her for atlest that long then the mornig after she had them she had came out of the drugs and started being a mother to them. |
Makes good sense to me and I don't see what it could hurt. :) |
