Breeding I have a yorkie that just turned 1 in January. I am thinking about having one litter but have read a lot of the posts. I am not sure if this is the thing to do. The reason I want to breed her is to have a puppy for my daughter, she just loves my dog. I am worried that it requires far more experience than I have. I also am concerned that it may change my dogs personality...Can you guys give me some insight as to what I need to consider and if she is too young? :animal-pa Thanks for your help and information. |
welcome Hi and welcome to YT...my best advise is to read the achrived threads on breeding, you will be busy for a week.. stay with YT and talk to breeders...you may find it is the last thing you want to do or you may find you want to take a chance on breeding your pet. Best wishes |
thanks Thank you I will continue reading. |
I was a first time breeder. Yorkie talk members helped me out a great deal. My dog Kriket had only 1 pup and I ended up keeping him! I couldn't resist! They love each other's company. I do not feel as if her mood changed after her pup, but you will see her mood change a bit during pregnancy. She finds ways to get my attention all of the time, and will always be my baby!!! Good Luck! :aimeeyork :aimeeyork :aimeeyork |

Hi, I am from Tucson also and just wanted to welcome you!.. |
You also may want to find a mentor or breeder friend in or around your city that could give you hands on training...if she has a litter coming up, you could be there to watch. It doesn't necessarily have to be yorkies either...any toy breed would help. |
