Help! I'm not sure how to go about this. Ok, I've been contemplating on studding out my puppy. He's almost a year old (he will be in June). I'm not sure how to get involved in this. He's very cute (I don't want to waste his genes) and I was told I should stud him out, at least once. If someone could help me out and give me some tips, I'd greatly appreciate it. |
stud Please do not be offended, but there is more to a stud then "cute" genes. Why not do an archive search here and read the pro's and con's of breeding a male. There is no reason to ever breed a pet..infact males tend to mark the house and pee on everything once they are bred and not neutered. Truthfully, living with a stud dog is not fun...but there is no better pet then a neutered male, what a terrific companion dog they make. |
I had a male that I never breed and he was the best dog! So I totally agree with Pat (yorkierose) And the marking the house thing gets old very fast!! (even if he is trained before hand) My friends dog peed on her wall some many times that she actually had to replace her wall board. (and he was trained before she started to use him as a stud. |
