? ? ? ? about size . . . . . . Since so many are on the subject of size . . . . . Can anyone out there tell me what the size comparisons should be, male to female, for breeding ? What is the largest a male should be for say a 5-6lb female ? We just got a male that is 10.5 weeks old & he weighs 3 lbs. But I honestly feel they may had "overfed" him, because he seems so tiny other than his chubby little belly . Our 2 girls weigh around 5lbs each & they are 6mo. I do not remember them being this little when we got them & they were only 8 wks when we brought them home. I guess just reading all the other posts about size has got me worried, not that I would ever get rid of him, he's here to stay :D But I do not want to make the mistake of breeding the girls & have something horrible happen because the puppies are too big :( Any info would be greatly appreciated. |
A male can be a bit larger, I wouldnt hesitate breeding a 5 1/2 lb female to a 6 lb male. If you research the size of the parents and grandparents one can gauge what they might throw. |
