Growing a long coat I have a question. I have always kept my yorkies coats short due to the fact that we live out in the country and our yorkies like to play outside, swim ect. I've been thinking about growing there coat long. I know I could ask my groomer but I thought I'd see what you all have to say. I know you ladies willl tell me the truth instead of trying to sell me a bunch of stuff I don't really need. So does anyone have any preference on what shampoos, vitamins good for a long coat ect.? Thanks. |
I use the chris christensen shampoo/condition and Ice on Ice for a leave in detangler. Use a pin brush that doesn't have the balls on the end...also found on the CC website. You can get Missing Link which is a multi vitamin that is suppose to help the coat and skin. |

Hi Tashasmon....depending on the coat of your yorkie a long coat can be easy or more difficult to keep up with....Each of my girls have long hair. Cheri has silky hair ....and it's a piece of cake.....brush brush... we're done. :) Chanel has a more cotton coat and lots of hair and it's work. She happens to like me playing with her hair... but it's hard keeping up with...I'm thinking of cutting her down again because it's something that has to be done every day when it's long. They both play outside all the time....and some days I have more leaves in my den than my yard from them dragging them into the house. P We've been using the CC PRoducts txshopper mentioned for over a year ..and I love them . I'm always interested in hearing about others....I'd love to find something perfect for cotton coats and the CC is the best I've used for this type....so far |

Ive grown My Jewels hair out and it is really turning pretty. You wont be disapointed letting it grow out. It does take more grooming but its not bad. I use Chris Christensen shampoo, conditioner, and Ice on Ice detangler. I aslo use plush puppy Seabeeze oil. I also use Missing Link. It is good for the coat and skin. You can find it at Petsmart. |
Thank you Thank you. I will check out the products and see which I like best. As for their coat Tasha's is more cotton like too I think. Jersey's is really thick and hardly ever gets messed up. By the way I have babies. Tasha had 4 but 1 didn't survive *sob*. She had all boys. I'm a little worried about one of them. He seems to be not as frisky as the others. I'm going to have a long night ahead of me. I haven't weighed them yet. I'm giving them time with mama before i mess with them too much. I'm just happy she is doing good. |

About the brushing I brush the girls coats exspecially tashsa (because she absolutely loves it) several times a day some days. So should I quit brushing it so much or should i use a detangler each time. |
