I know what you mean My husband even after watching me help everyone and their brother with their dogs when it came to delivering a difficult litter still doesn't understand. He's one of those that thinks that dogs are dogs and for centuries have been delivering on their own. What i try to tell him is yorkies were bred down to become smaller and in the process became more fragile. Not to mention back then I'm quite sure alot of dogs died giving birth. And that no matter how silly he thinks i am I'm still doing it my way lol..which is tons of whelping supplies and I don't leave them alone for one minute the last week and a half. I can't wait though. I feel like i'm giving birth my dang self lol |
Hi :) , I know what you mean about your husband. Some people think that they are just dogs and that they can have puppies by them selfs. That is wrong, the toys do have problems some time. I am planning to breed Sweetie this summer. I will be getting all the supplies and more for the big day. Nothing but the best for my Sweetie! :aimeeyork "Good luck with the big day" |
i agree Well he was proven wrong last night..tasha had to have a c-section. She's doing fine though.. I try to tell him all the time that even a big breed dog can run into problems..but my husband..he is old fashion in all ways. He's learning though that times are different. |

Congrats on your new puppies. I wish y'all could have seen my hubby's face the other night when I awakened him and said "Ya gotta hold Ilsa. I gotta deliver this big boy or he is gonna die!" Well, he held on for dear life but would not look!! Not til he heard the squeal that makes us breeders shout for joy!.. |
so you have new babies too...awww So what and how many did your girl have? My tasha is doing great. She is such a good mommy. I had to make her leave them to go potty but after that she is now going on her own. She doesn't like leaving them but i guess she realized she has to when nature calls. I've been hand feeding her and holding her water bowl for her to drink still. I'm sure she'd finally get up to eat but she needs plenty of water so i'm giving her all she will drink. In three and a half weeks Jersey will have her babies. Hopefully all goes well with her. |
I'm a New Yorkie Mom Hi I'm new her and would like to introduce myself as well. We have two children at home one boy and one girl. We also have two yorkies in which our female is 64 days pregnant today and her temperature that I took around 4:00 p. m. said 97.4 I have been doing my research and from what I have read and talk to my vet about says she might have one more day before she delivers. I she hardly any signs she just lays in the corner of her whelping area. She vomit a little earlier and she stares at me, so i get as close as possible to her and rub her forehead. I try and stay come because I've read to that they can sense that you are nervous or uncomfortable. Any advice anyone can give me or comfort:) |
