Female period expectations
 
I have a six month yorkie and she is probably going to go in heat soon. I 'm considering breeding her but want to know what to expect. Thanks for any help in advance

She is way to young to breed. Shes just a baby.it could kill her.

wait until her 2nd or 3rd heat. she is still a puppy, and wouldn't be a very good mom at such a younge age

I'm not going to breed her now silly. I just want to know if I don't spay her what to expect as far as her period...

Oh sorry ........whew scared me.
Her heat should last about three weeks.

are we talking...we should by tampons or it will be hardly noticeable..ALso when should I think about breeding her..Thanks in advance!

silly silly me! my bad! stock up on tampons, pms tablets, and their is always the occansional mood swing :D

For mine I use little panties and I use pads in them they work well. Some hardly bleed just a spot here and there But some bleed heavier..
I wouldn't breed her until her second or third heat and well over a year old. and only if shes over 5 lbs How much does she weigh now?

she was about 5 lbs. now at 6 mnths

About the mood swings......boy, is that the truth!!! Our Tiffany is such a sweet little thing, and has been so good with Ginger and Cujo's puppies, but then she came in season and did a 180 and became a real BITCH!! She was bitchy with everybody, though, not just the puppies. She did get "clingy" with humans, though, and just wanted to sit in your lap and cuddle. Thank goodness it only lasted about 3 weeks. I think all the dogs and people would have had to find a place to hide if it had lasted much longer.

My Sophie is in season for the first time. And she is a women with a attitude. She is moody, but sleeps a lot. And crys when anyone leaves the house. I feel bad when she is home alone, can not imagine what she is like. But I use panties and they work great.

no i dont think she is old enough
 
i do not know much about yorkies but my dad owned a kennel for pure bread dogs and he told me that it is not good to breed dogs if they are not over 1 year of age.
