I am owned by both AKC reg parti Yorkie and Biewers. You can see them in my album that V. posted for me. and linked to my posts. Also, both are included in my avatar. As for the difference between parti Yorkies and Biewers, I do not want to sound mean but we beat that horse to death and its obit can be found in the archives. Please scuse my wicked sense of humor; me bad!! |

I guess I don't "lurk" in this forum often enough to have seen the thread where that topic was "beat . . . to death". Sorry, but thanks for posting your link. Very pretty dogs. |

Seriously, there are threads here that go into great detail about this question and surprisingly enough it is very complex. The Biewer is a tri-colored yorkshire terrier that was produced by mating two standard tan and black yorkies who carred the recessive genes from when yorkies were originated. Mr Biewer thought these dogs were beautiful and bbegan to breed "for" them. He started a Biewer Club in Germany. Tri-colors anywhere else including here in the US who did not originate from the Biewer line are just tri-colors and not Biewers. Parti just means white mixed with any other color or colors. |
Thanks For Being Brave Quote:
1.Is Biewer a Kennel Name? 2. I know parti means two. But is tri-color the same as a Biewer except the name? Because from the pics I've seen the Biewer is white with 3 colors. Thanks in advance for your answers. Mary |

A Biewer is a tri-color dog ...white, black and brown. Parti-color can be 2 or three colors but white has to be one of the colors. Tri-colors here in the US are produced the same way as the Biewer was originally produced in Germany by the mating of two traditional colored yorkies who carry the recesssive genes for those colors that in the yorkshire terrier backgorund. |

To find out more, just do a search for Biewer and look for all the padlocks! :p |
"Bad no......... but a bit rude....yes!" Sorry you read that statement as rude especially after I had already posted that I was not being mean but....You have only to search the archives to see why I made that comment. It probably has had more heated discussion than most others and we have had to agree to disagree on this one. I think some of us would be happy to PM with you and answer any questions but they would be considered our opinions only. |
I agree ...to know Rini is to love Rini ! She has a great sense of humor....and HERE is a link to her Biewties :) http://www.yorkietalk.com/gallery/sh...596&ppuser=681 |
OMG Rini is a wonderful, compassionate lady. It's like you can't say anything here any more without someone taking it somewhere else! |

Parti colored yorkies are really beautiful. I'm fasinated with them. I was recently asked by someone who visited my home if my boy Prince was maybe a parti. I'd like to know this myself. I knew his coloring was beautiful and unique, but never did I think he may be a parti until it was brought to my attention. If anyone would like to analyze him for me sometime...I'd love it. |
Robbie, haul his little hiney on up here to MD and we will compare him to Remi! Then, to the Biewtis or the Biewers or one of my critters who has some white. OR,oh heck, you could post a really clear pic of front and side views and we will take a vote. Seriously, so many puppies/dogs have white on them that blends into the tan/gold that it can be hard to tell on a puppy. How old is Prince?? Remi was a parti when he left his mommie's womb... |

Well, just hokey-dokey!!! I do love to see the pics of these odd-balls. well, figuratively; not literally... |

Parti-Yorkies? I am very happy that I came across this site because I have so many questions about parti-yorkies. On Saturday, I am supposed to be buying a parti-yorkie from a breeder. Honestly, when I saw the ad for this puppy, I just "fell in love." I had no idea what a parti-yorkie was. Do you think there are any questions I should ask the breeder or any tests I should have him do on the yorkie before I bring her home? I have no intention on breeding her, but I'd like a healthy puppy. Also, I am a little confused about AKC registration of Parti-Colored Yorkies. Is it true that a Parti-Colored Yorkie can be registered under the AKC code 014? If so, do any combinations of colors not qualify? For example, would a majority white dog with black and or tan on its coat as well be able to qualify? Also, in general, is the lifespan of a parti-yorkie the same as the lifespan of a traditional yorkie? Could you tell me as much as you can about Parti-Colored Yorkies as well like, for example, should any special genetic testing be done on the puppy before purchasing one? |
