Guarantees Does anyone here have a guanrantee longer than 1 year? I'm thinking about extending mine. |
I'm just expecting my first two litters and would like to know what everybody has for guarantees. I need a place to start I'm just starting to write up my contracts. I've seen some for up to 5 yrs, but it seems that most only go for a year. |
Mine or for a year. But I always stay in touch with the buyer, so if anything were to come up, I would know aout it. :) |
I don't on paper, but if something were to come up down the road with one of our pups, on a case by case basis, I would be more than willing to help out the new owner as needed, be it finacially for corrective surgery or whatever. Again, it would depend on the situation that were to occur, the age of the puppy, etc. |
All this genetics talk. I honestly can't say what's behind my Yorkies at this time. And that scares the dickens out of me. I can guarantee you that my foundation is sound and the pups I've produced thus far are sound. But that's it. I am extremely passionate (everybody duck!) about the health, especially LP because I've dealth with it first hand. I'm thinking I may go with a 4 yr guanrantee on LP and LS even though my pups will be checked throughly before they leave. |

Mine are for 1 yr. Same as BamaFan, I will take it case by case . :animal36 |
Irene, are you talking about LP-luxating patellas; or LP Legg Perthes disease of the hip? They now call it LCP but some still use LP. These genetic guarantees are hard to word to protect all parties. For instance, luxating patellas can be caused by trauma-say a jump off a high surface or dropped by someone. I had that happen to one of my moms-dropping I mean.. |

Wow...I am so glad to learn this and this is so important for consumers and breeders alike. I have heard it said on here on many occasion that LP can be caused by injury so I guess they need to maybe name it something else, like something that means "lack of sufficient groove".....in latin of course. Thanks Irene...this is interesting. |
