Have you changed limited registration to full registration for buyer after sometime? I am just curious. I have learned that "Limited Registration can be changed to Full Registration only by the litter owner(s). The litter owner(s) will need to obtain the Application to Revoke Limited Status. Quote by "SilverStarShado" I have realized that many good breeders give "limited registration" and encourage for dogs to get fixed. But have you had times that you changed limited registration to full registration later because maybe the dog turned out to be a show quality yorkie and the buyer wants to show for hobby or you want a buyer to show? How soon you will figure out if the pup is a show quality? When I visited Stacy, she has show me how to look at pup for quality, and it sounded very complicating.. A lot to learn. I had dogs when growing up, but one was given and other was rescued... Then they had babies... It was Shiba Dog... I never knew about registration... I wish I knew a lot of things like that. |

Would you tell me a story about it? :) |
AKC's I can be reasonable!! LOL Yes, I would change the papers if the buyer was serious about showing. Yorkies are no doubt the most difficult breed to determine quality at an early age. Most will show their metal by 6 months. |
I don't release registration papers until the pup has reached 6 months and can be spay/neutered and then only with a cert from the vet that this has been done. If there was a serious question about the possibilty of show potential at that time, I would consider full registration depending on a lot of factors and good communication with the owner. |

Is it common that breeders don't give registration papers until they get cert for spay/neutered? I think it is really a good way to encourage the owner to have their dogs fixed but it doesn't seem to be something that many breeders pay as much attention about that. If you want a pet quality dog for companionship then it doesn't seem as important about the paper, but then.. people's interests and passion could expand as you get to know the breed. When I was in Japan, I didn't know much about registration or spray/neutered stuff.. then now I am on YT often and when I see pet quality dogs not getting fixed... I feel a little.. akward.. Not that I am upset.. but feel strange. |

I don't know if it is common or not, and this would not prevent someone from registering their dog with one of those alternate registries that don't care where the dog came from just to get 'papers' and then breed anyway. That would of course violate the agreement of my contract, but I can't control the choices made by them, though if I found out about it there would be a problem. I insist on the limited registration because I feel very strongly that any pups I produce are on the planet because of my actions and they are therefore my responsibility as long as they live, whether with me or not. Consequently any pups THEY produce are also my responsibility and I am not comfortable abdicating that with a future generation. |

I changed the paper one time , this have been my biggest mistake . I decided that It will never happen again . The puppies that I don't keep for me are all spayed or neutered . |

And remember? you told me that it would be a good side income by breeding? :D |

"I told you WHAT????" I thought I musta been hallucinating. and Michiko, you were well named and I wasn't referring to you in any way. I just know that there are people in the world that are not as principled as they should be and that kind of thing does happen. I would be glad to discuss releasing a show pup to you, you are a very honorable person...or I am no judge of character at all. |

It is really nice of you to say so good things about me :) I tend to say whatever is on my mind that people could misunderstand. I like how honest you are to potential buyers and communicate. You are also very responsible and think best for all your dogs. I can imagine how breeders decide about limited registration and sometimes people don't follow the contract. Ashame on them... Then when breeders try to be flexible then people take advantage.. awwwww. |
Our Gizmo was limited when we first got him. At 6 months the breeder changed him to full for us. I think it cost about $25 through AKC to change it. |
