Heat cycle taking longer. My female is 4 years old and usually comes into heat every 8 months. Shes getting close to 11 months and no heat. Took her to her vet and he said shes healthy and to increase her diet to more protein. No heat still. Anyone with a similar situation and got bitch to come in heat? TIA. |
I have a yorkie female who's too young to go into heat, but I have had the same thing you're describing happen with my larger breed. My husband has a bulldog female who usually goes into heat like clockwork every 6 months. She's had 4 that went as scheduled. Her past (5th) heat which started and ended in May was actually due in January. Everything checked out fine with our vet, but I had to be extra careful and check her daily just in case. Her past heat was fine and lasted the normal 21 days. Just like in human females cycles changing so it can in our canine counterparts. Have there been any changes in her routine/environment lately? |
Hi, have to say everything is quite the same. No changes that i can say it caused her to take longer (dont know if i can cause it either) she's good and healthy, really active.. Hopefully someone that has more knowledge than me could guide me on things to do. Thanks for replying! Happy 4th of July. |
There are a few things like hypothyroidism that can cause that. Has she had a full blood panel done? |
