Ok, let me try to explain this one more time. I DO NOT WANT TO BREED!!! I just want a female as a COMPANION! When I said breed "professionally" I was speaking in regards to those of you who have a higher education regarding Yorkies, this was not to be taken as a slant to anyone here what so ever. I have bought books, and have generally tried to increase my education regarding the breed on a novice level. IF you feel my comments were a personal judgement of you and what you choose to do with your dog, I do apologize, however I feel your retort was extremely offensive. I do appreciate all information and advice you have given me, and hope we can keep it STRICTLY on that level from now on. I have been trying to educate myself on the breed, and will continue to do so in the future. I am going to purchase a female in the coming month. I will take extremely good care of her, and my gizmo, and will never do anything that puts them at risk in anyway. I also think that I should add that I know you don't breed to make money, because I also used to breed, not yorkies, but I do know that there are many challenges, many joys, and sorrows or doing this. It can be very time consuming, and I think I can handle it. |
We just got done having gizmo weighed and measured. Here are the new measurments. He is 9 in long, 8 in high, and his chest is 9 in around. :) |

Heather sweetie ...I don't think anyone meant any negative feelings to come thru in the posts - I just re-read this whole thread and it looked like you had some really good answers ! there was a little confusion about breeding.... I know I tried to answer your post back on Page ONE with my own experience of measuring...it can be tricky....and in defense of the others in this thread - I think they were all trying to help you too.....no one posted anything bad here ...I STILL have trouble getting an accurate measurement of my girls.... and I STILL would love to see a picture of your little guy !!! IF you decide to get a female I just bet you'd love having a little girl ....think of the cute clothes and bows ! |
you know the only reason that I even started this thread in the first place was to try and figure out if at 8 months my boy was done growing or not... How it got from that to breeding I don't know, nor do I care anymore. I have bought myself some good books to read, and going to be doing some online research as well. When I said that I would be looking for a female to breed with my male, I ment that I was wanting to have a companion. Guess used the word incorrectly. For that I'm sorry, because I think that may have set off a chain of miscommunication and "confusion". I have properly measured him now, and am starting to do my reading. I hope that you all can understand what I am really talking about, and know that I did not really mean that I wanted to "breed". If I get a female and somewhere down the road, they have pups, that would be wonderful, I would love that. But that is a long ways away and I am going to be extra causious until the time is right. I did not mean to confuse anyone. Nor was I trying to offend anyone. I hope that you all will be there when I have questions in the future, as I know that I will have more to ask.. |
I can say this to help :D At 8 months - I really doubt he's done growing girlfriend :) My Chanel kept growing till almost 1-1/2 years I think ? I wonder when they DO stop growing ....That's a really good question....Cheri didn't seem to grow too much after she turned a year old..... and yes - We'll be here for you with questions you may have ...the breeders here offer so much good advise ... I've learned more here than any other site.... |
thank you so much for that information!!!!! I very much appreciate it!! |
Heather.....Good luck with your research and with the search for your little girl....it is always so much fun to look for a new addition...I envy you but I already have three so I won't be adding any more for a while...lol :) |
I just measured my Gizmo and he is 9 X 9! :D I never knew about this measurement..... |
