Curious Does anyone on the forum breed/show? Trying to find my way around the forum. |
I don't think that anyone here is showing their dogs. Back in the early 1980s, I used to show my English Setter. Actually, I didnt show Rachel -- we paid a handler big bucks to show her. It sure was fun to travel around to see our Rachel in shows! LOVE dog shows and I enjoy watching them on TV now. |
Higgin's certainly is a handsome boy! |
Thanks, Pat. We think he is handsome and smart and full of personality and naughty and fun and stubborn and affectionate and hyperactive and just so cute we could eat 'im up with a spoon! ;) |
Hey, Mary Ellen, Toto said she would like a "spoonful" of Higgins!! :) She said tell you that handsome, smart, full of personality, naughty, fun, stubborn, affectionate, hyperactive and just so darn cute is what she's looking for in a playmate! Fits her to a tee also!! She can't wait until February to play with Higgins!! :) Plans to bring both her X-pens where they can have a BIG play area and we don't have to worry about "skunks" or critters getting them! Wouldn't worry about Toto anyway ... Higgins sounds like quite the "he-man" so he can protect her!! ;) |
YorkiRose, although Toto is purebred, we opted to sign an agreement not to show or breed. We weren't looking for a show dog when we bought Toto, just got lucky!! :) We also weren't at all interested in having puppies in a bzillion years so that part was easy! We wanted a female because that was just a personal preference. We are interested in agility training for her purely for exercise. We have discussed it with our vet who is in favor of this type training but she says absolutely nothing high up. :) We had a great personal trainer while we were in Lake Charles, LA who came to the house and worked with her. So far we haven't found anyone to our liking here but will keep looking. We, like Mary Ellen, really enjoy the dog shows but just wasn't interested in participating! ;) |
I finished my last champion 7 years ago and give some thought to showing it from time to time. I am not eager to take on another show coat..getting lazy. I never say never, maybe next year! LOL I have seen agility and it looks like alot of fun. Also, enjoy obedience. I have owned two with OB titles..wonderful Yorkies. I have a litter that is 7 weeks old now. |

showing dogs I have 2 that we are showing right now, a male and a female. I enjoy doing it, and if it ever gets to the point that it is not fun for me and the dogs, then it will be time to quit. |
How often do you show, mmyorkies? We wanna see more pix of your showdogs on your website! :) |
Showing Not as much as we would like to these past 2 years. We just moved into a new home last year and spent the summer building decks and trying to fix up the house. Still working on things this year. I have been lazy in taking pictures at the shows, and will have to start doing it again. We try to go to at least 2 shows a month during the summer months, and only go to a couple during the winter. We don't want to get stuck somewhere in the motorhome in the snow. We have a show coming up on the 29th of this month. |
