Milk Supply Hi, My little Jolie had 4 adorable little pups last night (all night) three girls and one boy. My question is...does anyone have some great ideas of how to get jolie to produce more milk????? Thanks... |
Congratulations on the new puppies . |
thanks so much !!!! |
milk How do you knwo she is not making enough milk? Are the pups crying? Are they losing weight? |
She needs lots of liquids. Goats milked watered down and also boiled chicken...deboned with the broth mixed with 1/2 crushed tablet of Calcium supplements. |
The pups are not crying. They all seem very sleepy. They lost about .2 ounce a piece but her nipples are not swollen like my other females have been. I will go make her some chicken now. I am giving her tums, for a calcium supplement. Thanks ... :) |
pups Feed her well..the milk will let down as they nurse..it will no doubt be another few days before she bags up well. |

My Sugar had milk fever with her last litter so this time i give her a teaspoon of yogert with a crushed tums in it daily. The pups are 4 weeks now and they are all doing fine so far. Good luck |
just wanted to say congrats on those new babies! just keep a watch on her milk. squeeze her teats (not just the nipple) the under fleshy part once in a while to see if she has a good supply coming in. she is going to empty out and fill back up, so best to check her when she hasn't just nursed. |
