reputable breeder? Hi! This is my first post, as I don't have a yorkie yet but am going to be getting one within the next few months. I am finding it difficult to know which breeder to go with... I live in Toronto, Canada, but am moving to Winnipeg in September. I will wait a few months and get settled in before getting a yorkie. The only person I know who has a yorkie got it from Thundering Hills Yorkies in British Columbia. I absolutely love her yorkie (have babysat many times), and she recommended the breeder to me, but I have heard some suspicious / sketchy things about them from other breeders / when I searched online. Has anyone here heard of them? Or can anyone recommend a good breeder in Ontario, Canada? That way I could maybe visit them before I move, and then come back to pick them up in a few months. Any other tips / advice on knowing which breeder to go with when there are so many would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! |

Thanks!! Is it a bad sign they're not part of the CYTA? |
Durrer has beautiful dogs. I got my little girl from Ilona Rodionova (Rigair Yorkshire Terriers), and I consider myself very lucky to have one of her pups. She is an exceptional breeder who is devoted to producing happy, healthy puppies with excellent conformation and temperament. Here is a link to a review written about her two years ago. She is actively involved in showing, and she is an outstanding dog trainer by profession. Many of her dogs share a Durrer lineage. Rigair Yorkshire Terriers CKC Reg. All i can tell you is this, Durrers are rated really really highly by the breeders of two of my pups in the UK. Take that with a pinch of salt though and do your own research to make sure everything is fine. Also be patient if they don't have any pups wait or if you don't want to wait ask if they know anyone that they would recommend. |

And what foremost I think would be a bad sign, is that they are not CKC breeder members. Run don't walk from breeders who don't support our National Registry. Unless of course they elect to register their liiters with either AKC or UKC. You can for sure get a puppy from a reputable show breeder in Ontario. I know of most of the Ontario breeders here who are members of the Cyta. Pm me if you want more information on Ontario CYTA breeders |

They are part of the CYTA. Sorry about that. Thank you everyone for the responses! |
http://www.canuckdogs.com/upload/Dog...50568f0be7.pdf Milton Show 2 10 on Saturday Yorkies 7 of them are in the ring either Ring 0ne of Ring two. The schedule is attached. Great opportunity to meet some breeders and see the pups. Rigair will be there along with other Ontario breeders. Ilona will be around although she is showing Black Russian Terriers but will likely stay for the day. Tanya will also be there probably with the YOrkies. Milton is not a far drive from Toronto. Try to make the time to get out there it will be well worth the effort. If you tell that you are going and when I will quickly text both to let them know to expect you. I am getting ready for vacation so I do wish you all the best in your search/ |
Want another yorkie in Missouri Hi, I am new to this forum! I have two beautiful yorkies and want another one. If anyone has a female yorkie for sale in Missouri please email me at: dollcrafter@runbox.com with the details. I am home all day to take care of them. I love the two I have and want to give them another one to play with. Thanks so much! Janet |
My Olivia came from Ms Betty Anne Durrer and Ms Vicky Lyn Hamilton. I am very very happy with my little girl. I can't recommend them enough. If you need any info, feel free to pm me. ;) |
