Remember that giving birth is a natural process and requires little to no help. So don't get yourself worked up and stressed out to the point that you can be of no help incase of an emergency. Good with your little one
 | ......Death is a natural process too....not really an outcome we gleefully accept......I am reminded of the neighbor that years ago, told me the very same thing....and then added, "Put her out in the garage so YOU dont get all stressed out, let her have her puppies, and stay out of it....dogs have been doing it every day for thousands of years........it is a natural process!!! And if you go out tomorrow, and she and the babies are dead, well, then it wasnt meant to be.....survival of the fittest"....... I do NOT advocate this type of care for my ladies when having puppies, especially maidens. They have basic instincts, but they can also eviscerate a puppy in an attempt to chew the cord....they can chew off a leg trying to cut a cord.....they can chew a stuck baby in half trying to pull it out of her vagina with no help from you.......I would suggest you become involved with your momma from this very moment, through the actual whelping process, from start to finish....know how to extricate a puppy that is stuck in the birth canal, learn how to cut a cord, learn how to safely deliver these pups, and yet hand the live, healthy baby over to momma so she can FINISH cleaning baby up, bonding with the baby......THAT is the natural part of this whole process.....and as a breeder, it is YOUR responsibility! |
