Shipping information Recommended airline? Does anyone have shipping information or a terrific airline they use? I have looked into Delta and continental. Its something I have thrown around for awhile but havent liked the idea. Afraid for my puppies. I would consider it if I found an airline I felt comfortable with.........MAYBE. Do all airlines have a temp regulation? Are there any airlines that treat a travelling puppy much like a human passenger? Not left in the cold or heat.....etc. I know many of you probably dont have this experience but I would appreciate any info regarding shipping for reference. Or past experiences from those who had a puppy shipped. Thanks |
shipping So glad you asked this question. I have done so little shipping and must send my German Biewer to MD to the co-owner for breeding in future. I would never hestitate to ship to Canada through AirCan..it cost me $65 to receive a male..they were WONDERFUL! Puppy arrived and sat in the office in his crate waiting for me...so I would think shipping to Can, by AirCan would be the same treatment. I have received many, but shipped few out and my info is so out dated. I am told they have much stricter regs regarding plane conditions in the area dogs are kept..so many show breeds go to NY in Feb...and fly from different parts of the world, so I would think it is safer now...some bring as many as 5 or 6 enteries. |
I shipped a friends dog out in Jan on Continental from California to Florida. The pup flew through their quickpac service, where the dog is put into a car if the ground time is over a certain amount of time, so the dog isn't outside in the weather. And that service the pup is picked up at the baggage counter. The pup arrived in wonderful shape and I've heard many other satisfied customers... |
hello im new here and loving it i will be getting my yorkie baby june 4 and the breeder i bought him from will only use american airlines because of temp. control and ive read the discloser for aa and they wont ship if tem is above 90 or below 50 hope this helps!! |
My baby was shipped american airlines, and i wasn't thrilled that she was put on the lower deck with the cargo, but its temp controlled. She was the 1st off the plane, and hand carried right to me at baggage claim I think its tough, especially on the tiny babies, but sometimes you don't have much choice. She flew non stop from dallas, to Greensboro, NC, and she was in her crate, with lots of "stuffing" food and water. Even though my experience was ok, I would think really hard about having another one shipped. |
Thank you for responding, I had forgot this thread, Im yet to ship a puppy. One day I think I will ship one under the right conditions, but.............leaving home is so tramatic for them anyways.............Im yet to find the right conditions!.........LOL Keep posting! |
I had one come from South Dakota on Northwest and another on American airlines from Missouri. We ended up doing VIP on both. ( not cargo, ) I felt they were treated really good. They both had airline blankets inside the crates. I think they were more traumatized when we took them in our motorhome the first time... :) |
