Looking for a Breeder - Near CT Hi everyone, hoping to get a better idea as to who to go to. i am in search of my first yorkie. i have been going through looking for reviews and those who have purchased from the breeders in my area. finding some info but still not 100% turyanne.com - not much info on the site. jenksfoxfire.com - available "Available Tiny Yorkie Puppy" from yt anyone who says Tiny is a red flag to avoid. cloverhillyorkies.com - the site says not available puppies. taylormadeyorkies.com - so far seems to have the best reviews and puppies available. jubileeyorkies.com - have no pups. i don't mind distance as I am just outside of hartford ct. any ideas? good/bad tips? experiences with any breeders in my area? thanks for your help, rubired |
I have heard wonderful things about the Jenks and also Clover Hill. Susan Dodge (Clover Hill) is a member here. I hope you find your baby. |

Breeder I highly recommend Rose Jenks with Foxfire. She is a very reputable show breeder and I did see that she has a female available... I personally feel she is using the word tiny because this Yorkie pup is small and not to be mistaken as someone who purposely breeds tinys and teacups which is a huge red flag....thatbis not Foxfire at all...Rose and Bill breed for the purposing of producing show pups and at times has some pups available...that little girl is just gorgeous... Cloverhill and Taylormade are also reputable breeders in my opinion. I have been to Clover Hill and know Susan and would also recommend her. |
Agree totally about Jenks-- Quote:
Personally, my next available pups aren't even born yet. In fact, pregnancy not even confirmed yet. The earliest I will have anything ready to go is July. Interview your reputable breeders and get on the wait lists of those you like, and keep in touch with them! Best wishes, Susan, Clover Hill Yorkies:) Hi Kerri! |
awesome thanks so far everyone. Susan we actually left you a voicemail. lol Also Taylormade. I figure take this time to start the interviews and talk to the breeders. See how we connect and if there is a connection and a puppy available woohoo. Otherwise I can wait for a puppy with the right breeder. Ill contact Bill and Rose at foxfire. They list the price as $5000 and I have seen only one other breeder site list a price for a dog. Is that normal? Rubired |
That pup looks really beautiful, and both parents are grand champions. I would think you can find a beautiful pet quality Yorkie from a reputable show breeder in the northeast for $2000.00. There are breeders who are not reputabe at all who breed for tinies that ask greater than $5000, and I would not recommend them. That's not the case with the Jenks. Finding a healthy, well-bred Yorkie with a good temperament is worth the wait. |
$5000 yikes! Within a couple of hundred dollars of $2K should get you a pet pup from the best breeders worldwide! $5K would be a more appropriate price for a show quality female with breeding rights. I apologize if I failed to return a voice mail. I have a computer based phone that keeps me confused as to where my messages are. The most reliable way to reach me is via email at cloverhillyorkies@gmail.com and I'm always happy to make referrals to friends when I know they have pups. :) |
ok I will email you. Not worried about the voicemail I know for myself it takes me a day or two to get back to people. I don't want a show dog just a pet. :-) Ruby |
Clover Hill Our Shelby (8 months old today!) is from Clover Hill - our first Yorkie - and she is gorgeous, healthy, and has a wonderful temperament. Just saying that you will be *very* lucky if you get a Clover Hill pup. (Susan, owe you email and pics - she's getting more beautiful by the day) |
