What postal scale do you use? Amber is due to have her puppies this month. I was wondering what type of postal scale is everyone else is using? I was wanting a postal scale but I am up for other options. What do you use to weigh the puppies? Do you think that this scale would work? http://cgi.ebay.com/DW-35P-Digiweigh...QQcmdZViewItem Thanks |
I don't use a postal scale. Not that it would work any better or worse, but I use a fish scale...the kind people take with them to weigh fish they catch. It has a little hook on it and I make a 'sack' out of a towel or rag, put the pup in and hang is on the hook. Works just as well, has a digital read...I think it was about $25 at Wal-Mart. Just FYI. :) |
Wow! Thank you that is something I never thought of. Good idea! |
That is so funny!! I was just in my kitchen checking my scale to see if it would work for our two litters that are due soon!! Mine by the way won't - but that one looks like it would be great!! I also saw one at Walmart that looks like it might work - in the kitchen section it is a kitchen scale and it is digital also. I think that the one you are looking at would probably be more accurate though. Sorry no real working experience with any ot them as of now maybe someone who know's will read this and reply...I am curious also. Good Luck with your litter-to-be, when are yours due? Mine are due Jan 15 and 17. :D :animal36 |

I use my Pampered Chef kitchen scale for weighing dogs 5 lbs. and under. It works for me. :D With all of the ideas that are coming out it just goes to show what a creative diverse group we have here. |
I use a postal scale I got at office max for 25.00 It is very accurate. i have trained Cali to sit on it long enough to get her weight. |
Looks like a good scale to me, But heck what do I know!! I weigh my puppies on a vegetable scale!! $9.99 in Walmart!! |

I'm going to be using a MY WEIGH MBSC-50 that I got from OldWillKnottScales.com via an eBay auction (which means I paid MUCH less than what their website sells 'em for). They have a 35 lb version of this scale as well. I have seen it on eBay too. I chose the 50 lb because I will be using this scale for other things in addition to weighing puppies and parents. |
