What do you breeders feed?? Hi I am new to this site. But not knew to Yorkies I am just so confused about this whole dog food dilema. I have tried many brands!!!!!! My Yorkies do not like From, wellness ,blue. Does anyone else have this problem? I do not give treats very often because I do not want this to effect their appetite! I have been showing and raising Yorkies for over 25 years. The last 2 or more years with all the recalls and more product information....I could really use some suggestions!!!! I free feed because if I have pregnant or puppies I feel food should be avaliable to them at all times....so I cannot do raw or frozen Looking forward to any suggestions Thanks |
Royal Canin has worked very well for me and my dogs for over 30 years......literally, scientifically formulated and tested to provide nutritional requirements from conception in breeding ladies, all the way through to care for my seniors. |
I have been feeding Chicken Soup For the Puppy Lover's Soul for years and I have never had any problems with it. It is not easy to find so you would have to go to their website to see if it is in your area. I have also fed Canidae and I really liked it. A show breeder friend of mine uses Natural Balance. |
Thanks so much. Which Royal Canin do you feed? Awhile back I was going to order I think it is called HRT but royal was doing a formula change. Do you free feed? Thanks so much |
Not a breeder, but my breeder likes Petcurean NOW OR GO, NEVER HAVE Hd a recall |
Not a breeder, but my breeder (Deb Sillers, Amazing Yorkies) recommended I feed Cookie the Royal Canin 29 as a pup. She is 100x more knowledgeable than I am about yorkies, so I trust her recommendation 100% and free feed it to Cookie. When Cook hits 10 months I'll ask Deb if she recommends the adult formula #28 or if she likes a different food at adult age, but for now it's definitely Royal Canin 29 Yorkshire Terrier Puppy. |

I'm a show breeder and I love Natural Balance fish and sweet potato! Royal Canine made my dogs itch because of the grains in it! I do feed Wellness grain free as well! I do add baby chicken sticks to their food so it's just not dry! If I have a picky eater I love the Stella and Chewys freeze dried raw to add to the dry kibble! With a higher quality food it's less flavor because the less flavor fillers if that makes sense! Donna Bird |

I have used Nutro for years Lamb & Rice. Both the puppy food and Adult food. We had a lot of problems with RC. |
