Did you try www.sweetyblue.com? |
lines Glenmar is Karen Brandenburg of Ky..or used to be. Exmoor is Jim Hupp..mostly Rothby..be careful with linebreeding Rothby back to Rothby. I have had dogs from each line. |
I have tried Sweety Blue and couldnt find anything,Hey YorkieRose do any of these breeders have websites? Thanks |
I just found out Lil Bit has Wildweir Bumper Sticker in his ped, this Yorkie was on the cover of "The complete Yorkshire Terrier" Book by Joan Gordon his Breeder this is pretty cool thanks Becki for the info! |
Exmoor lines owner Jim Hupp/Bret Walker do not have a website.. They are very reputable show breeders.. They do not need to advertise their yorkies via website or ads.. I personally do not have any of the Glenmar line, but I can remember reading some negative info concerning the Glenmar line and have decided to personally stay away from it.. I have never seen a website for the Glenmar line and I have not seen any new Glenmar yorkies out there.. Melanie |

Hey Melanie thanks for the info, I was just wanting to find anything and everything I can about these Bloodlines I love to research Peds and find out as much as I can and thought YT would be a great place to start. Do you remember where you read the stuff on the Glenmar? Thanks |

lines I remember "Bumper" (Wildweir)..he was at the first NY show I went to..at least 20 yrs ago...the Wildweir sisters were very nice people...one still is, the other has passed away. As to Glenmar..I bought a bitch from Karen some time ago. No health problems, but she was very shy...that can happen to any breeder, but I wondered if Violet was socialized.. she was only bred once and spayed. I placed her as a one on one pet so she could get lots of attention. It is common knowledge Karen (Glenmar) went to prison for animal cruelty. Yes, folks a real prison!! so I am not spreading rumors. I do not think Karen was cruel as much as overloaded and overwhelmed. This is my opinion, but she was also used as an example...so alot of what you hear about Glenmar could be jaded by her prison sentence, as opposed to quality of Yorkie, just can not say...I haven't seen many of her peds lately, but wasn't her CH Lord of the Rings from Rothby..? Some of the dogs you mention are quite old, so it all depends where in the pedigree these dogs are as to what you are going to get. Anything past the third generation is a crap shoot.. |
Wow I think that is so great to actually see some of the older dogs. I would have loved to see some of the older Wildweir dogs. For those who have commented about Joan Gordon (Wildweir). Joan and her twin sister Janet showed over 275 Yorkshire Terriers to their championship during their long association with Yorkies. Many were home bred but many of the earlier dogs were imported from Europe and are the foundation of many of todays Yorkies. One thing is clear both sisters were dedicated to the Yorkshire Terrier breed. Yes it's true. Brandenburg did go to a "real prison" for animal cruelty. I personnally have close friends who testified at the trial as to what they witnessed when they went to claim their showdogs. It's all a matter of public record. I also know the condition of the dogs. I know what it took to get "client" dogs out of a terrible situation after the police broke down the doors to their home. It was not very pretty it was disgusting! So I personnally cannot excuse her as just being "used as an example". There is just no excuse for the dogs to be living in the conditions they were in. I will not go into the nasty details here. These were show persons for gosh sakes. They had possession of other people's dogs and (IMHO) they violated the trust of their clients. |

Karen You are right..and I think I am wrong to say she was an example. What happened in Karens's home is not rare. I do not in anyway agree with the condition her dogs..but I have seen so many just like her..the only reason they are not in prison is because no one has caught them. I am told I am too hard on breeders...maybe so...but I have seen many reputable pet and show breeders who would be in prison if the public saw their conditions. I have had as many as 25 Yorkies at once...I was with them 24/7 and had no life...so when someone tells me they have 30 or 40 dogs, and no kennel help, I know these dogs are not in tip top shape..as to dental care and grooming. One reason breeders get in toruble is they do not place retired dogs..I know it looks like a breeder does not love their dogs to breed them and get rid of them...but a friend had 17 retired Yorkies and refused to let one go to a great pet home..so all 17 spent their entire life in a kennel waiting to die. I was told Karen has quite a few old dogs..I do know her situation scared the crap out of alot of show breeders and they made some changes..thank you for your post... |
pedigrees I think you have one of the lines spelled incorrectly. CH. Marquess' Lady Catherine and Marquess' I'm no Illusion - I think it should be spelled Marcris. Joyce Watkins in Florida owns this line and also has Malteses. Infact she started with the Maltese first. I knew her back in the 80's and she is very nice. Both her and her husband have worked very hard witht their dogs. Here is her web site - http://www.marcrismaltese.com/ They live in Jupiter, FL. And - Romine's Royal Crown and CH.Exmoor' Peter Piper Go Romine - Romine use to be owned by a past president of YTCA - 2001 to 2002? This is what I heard. I think her first name is Ivy. I think she lives in KY. Romine's Royal Crown is out of CH. Exmoor's Peter Piper Go Romine x Angel From Heaven. Ch. Exmoor's Peter Piper Go Romine is out of - Am/Can BIS/BISS CH Rothby's Renee'Gade x CH Kresta's Best-Ever I hope this helps you KristiC :) T. P.S. Actually I did find a Marquess - Ann Marquess. Sorry don't know much about this one. |
WOW thanks everyone for the info, it has been alot of help, I like to know the bad lines so I can stay away from them and the good lines to try to find them, My number one concern is health I do not want to breed anything bad back into any lines so this is why I started this post and must say every reply has been great info, Thanks you guys!
