Heating pad question... 1 Attachment(s) I was wondering if any of you breeders happen to use (or know) about this particular heating pad for pets. I purchased it from ebay. It's been plugged in for a couple of days and I've noticed that it doesn't get very warm. I don't expect it to be hot, but I'm concerned that it may not be warm enough for the puppies when they're born. |
pad I use a regular heating pad and putit under the bed..so I want it to get hot to penerate the bed and coverings. |
I do the same as YorkieRose and it works good that way. |

I asked my mentor (the breeder I purchased my first gal from) about heating pads, and she said she never uses them. She said her mamas (she has 2) keep the babies plenty warm. I was just wondering how you know when they need it & when they don't? I thought everyone used them. |
I have always heard when they lay on their sides their fine when they are on their bellies their cold and on their back they are hot, plus they will cry and let you know when something is wrong to, Kristi |
Newborns need a heated area incase they wonder off a bit from mom or mom wants out for a break. Winter, spring or summer, within my puppies bed, half has the heat pad under the fleece pad and other half doesnt. I use the heat pads until theyre weaned. When theyre sleeping on their back simply means theyre healthy, content little kids! When theyre cold they tend to pile up on top of one another. |
