What does this mean?? Specialize in tea-cups, babydoll face, appleheads, cobby body, mostly dark coats. What are appleheads and cobby bodies? I was looking on Puppyfind.com and saw this. I was just wondering what the heck that means. Oh, and what constitutes a "baby doll face"? Thanks. Hope everyone had a Happy New Year. I did...stayed home and relaxed! :D |
I would stay very, VERY far away from that place! I've never heard of an applehead or cobby body, but according to the other things, it does not sound very good. JMHO of course... |
Lord knows I would stay away from there! LOL I was just so curious because it sounds funny! :p |
yeah it does sound funny. maybe its just me but when I hear "appleheads" it makes for a very funny visual. :p |

Sorry, I am no help! It sounds like a tropical salad |
Hmmm...I am not sure in regard to the apple head but I think the cobby bodies are desirable. Kimberley talks about cobby bodies where Paula the groomers babies are concerned. And Paula's babies were adorable with a capital A. |
O.K. don't quote me on this guys but I was looking back through previous threads in regard to body traits and the cobby means short legs. The apple head was referred to as being more the Teddy Bear type face versus the Pixie face with the longer snout. If that doesn't make sense ask Kim (Socal) I believe she can explain it better. |
Cobby usually means a square build. Apple heads are like Chi's. The forehead is rounded and gives the Yorkie more of the "baby doll" face. The stop (area where muzzle meets head) should not be as pronounced as a Chi. Baby doll faces have a shorter muzzle and a more pronounced forehead along with a rounder shaped eye. |
CC's Thank you. Nice and to the point! I wanted to ad those are all sales gimmicks to describe the saught after traits that 'eveyone' looks for supposedly. In plain English, it means 'I just want to sell my puppies for LOTS of money'. That is another 'puppy supplier' to stay away from. I'm sorry, can't call them breeders. I used to say babyfaced when baby talking about my puppies. But not NO MORE!! |

I don't even LIKE the term 'appleheads' nor had I heard that one before  Even if I used the "Terms" I see to describe yorkies - Appleheads ? no way ! I do understand the Cobby body - that's the way Chanel is built even though she's a bit big - she has a perfect little Cobby Body :D I also agree with staying clear of sites like that - Catch phrases and marketing gimicks are running rampant and many people fall for it...that's such a shame because many times the words are only to enhance high prices |
I have never heard of apple head or cobby body but I have heard of a baby doll face..The breeder I bought from (and will be getting another) refers to my Sadie as having a baby doll face..I have seen Yorkies with a pointer nose...they kinda look foxy. |

Just wondering if someone calls and ask you to describe a pup you have for sale ...what do you say??? I don't understand why people get put down because of the way they describe their pups.. Personally..I want to know..if I'm looking for a pup. |
I dont think anyone has a problem if a breeder describes on of the pups this way only if they market it using those terms. |
