La Villa y Corte Yorkshire Terrier They are in Madrid (though they ship here to the island). She has 3 generations of world champions and 16 generations of stud champions in her lines. Her dogs are expensive (to us of course, to you maybe they arent so much) and even she doesnt have a breeding contract.I know this because my mentor has bought 2 dogs from her (just recently a boy who she will use as a stud once he is older) and the female she brought from her 3 years ago is currently pregnant.People who buy her pups often end up showing them too, or using the males as studs, and due to the champion bloodlines, the people who own these puppies ask for ALOT of money. So no, even the best and most reputable donīt tend to have a contract of any kind because it is considered that once you buy a dog, the rights belong to the new owner ;) I also know a champion german sheppard breeder. She also shows her dogs.LOTS of people buy her puppies and breed them also. Here, people donīt see breeding contracts as protection, infact, if they exsisted, people like Ana (from La Villa y Corte) would never be able to sell their pups. MANY breeders (grand majority now actually) will ask if you want your puppy registered or not.If you donīt, the pup will be cheaper, but in the future if you want to sell your puppies, youīll have to sell them cheaper too ;) Basiclly, the only reason people want paperwork anymore is because they want to be able to sell their own pups for more money later on, and being as people just arent forking out huge amounts for pups these days, you can imagine how many people actually register their dogs anymore ;) |

Wow it's a shame that anyone can breed these dogs over there. Are there even any health & genetic testing done on the breeding dogs? How is the homeless dog population over there? Here, it is awful, thousands of cats & dogs die everyday, about 1 every 11 seconds are put down to rest in shelters.:( |

I am glad everything went well. Momma is pretty. I love her color. One thing I need to caution you about is the length of the momma coat. Those babies can easily get tangled in her hair and strangle. You need to either tie her coat up with soft scrunchies or cut the coat to where it is no more than a couple of inches long. Panting is normal after they have the pups. Just don't make the room to hot for the momma. Also keep an eye on her temperature. If it goes over 103 then you would need to contact a vet. I pray the momma and babies do well. |
Congratulations on your beautiful litter, I enjoyed your step by step picture story of how it happened. I am glad to hear that all went so well. |
Congrats on the new babies!! I honestly don't think I could handle breeding my babies either. It would be too stressful and emotional taxing for me to do...and god forbid anything happen to them in the birthing process. I don't think I could ever forgive myself for consciously making the choice to put my baby in harms way. I really commend the responsible, reliable breeders out there who are able to handle it. |

BUT, if something does go wrong, you need to be cold blooded and react. You need to put your emotions aside and do what you need to do, and I am a "freezer" when it comes to that. Itīs also an expensive process.People tend to think that you breed and get a bunch of free yorkies - Thereīs no such thing as a free puppy ;) ALOT goes into breeding and it doesnt end when the pups arrive either.I donīt think Iīve slept a full night since the pups were born, because every little squeek and every little sound makes me turn on the light to make sure everything is ok.The worry doesnt go away. This is the main reason I will be keeping these puppys and why I wont be breeding again.I feel like Iīve put everything in me into this and now I am emotionally attached to all 3.I will never get back all that Iīve invested (not talking about money here ;) ) so they are staying with me. Being as I know this would happen every time, and I canīt have a housefull of yorkies, I am done :D |
P.s- If I had to put a price on a puppy after going through this, no one would be able to afford one! ;) You canīt put a price on emotions, on all the love that goes into this. I used to think that some breeders were CRAZY for charging what they do, but now? I think theyīre cutting themselfs short no matter what they charge. I love these babies so much already, tiny little feet, tiny little tails, perfection...Ahhhh, you canīt buy that kind of thing  |
I loved the play-by-play of the births! I am so glad it went well. How is Bella today? I'm hoping the panting resolved and her temp is ok? I would have to keep the pups, too:rolleyes: Looking forward to seeing pics as they grow! |
