Runt of the litter My Bella just had her first litter of puppies. She had three healthy ones and one that is to small to latch on to a tit. My husband went to Walmart and bought some formula and eye droppers to feed him with. I've been trying to keep him warm and fed every two hours. Is there anything more that i can do for my special little guy? Please help me. |
Hi - I moved this to Breeder Talk for you, so it'd get more attention. I sure hope this wee one makes it. It sounds like you're on the right track, but hopefully some of our wonderful breeders will have add'l advice. :) |
Have your vet show you how to tube feed this tiny baby. Make sure the baby does not have a cleft palate that is keeping baby from successfully nursing. You would do so much better using a formula given by several breeders and listed in the breeder section. With tube feeding, you can deliver exactly what baby needs for survival...and with much less chance of aspiration. Good luck with this little one...remember you also have to stimulate baby to poo and pee... |
