Update on Maddie! Well, from thinking Maddie was having a false pregnancy to finding 3 little heartbeats and now having some VERY active babies in her belly, everything seems to be going along pretty good for her. She went to get X-rayed again on the 26th and we can now see them...barely. Vet says she could not be 45 days even on the 26th. I'm beginning to think he needs new equipment...LOL! I'm really confused. Something else must have went on way after I thought it did. Anyway, from what he sees, the size of the pups are okay for her. That was my biggest concern up until now. I ordered my whelping kit, whelping DVD, puppy heating pad, whelping box is ready (thanks to my boyfriend) and now, it's just keeping a close eye on her. She still wants to jump around. I'm limiting that as much as possible. The wait begins! |

What are you feeding her. I just found out Royal Canine BabyDog 30 is perfect for Prego mommies. Its got more calcium and potasuim than puppy food. |

Also, you could mix in some cottage cheese. |
May I ask where you ordered your DVD and whelping kit from? :) |
One of my girls conceived on the 17th day of her heat cycle..I know there was not a tie earlier so they sure can fool us..Congratulations on the expectations. Do you have a mentor close by?? |

Also, for sgraff....I purchased my DVD on cabelas.com. In the keyword box, type "whelping video". The title of the video is "Special Delivery". If you go on Google and search it, the website for the lady that actually filmed it will come up first. It's a lot cheaper on the American site. I found my whelping kit on ebay. Just type in the keyword "whelping kit" and it's pretty much the only one that comes up. I researched other kits, but this one seemed to be the best to me. It was $95. The only thing I don't have is the scale. She's trying to get me one ASAP. whispersmom2 ...I don't have a mentor. I will be doing this all on my own. Any suggestions? |
MY WEIGH MBSC-50 is the scale I just ordered. I got mine from a guy on eBay for much less than what you see at many of the stores online. I think it's a nice setup and I like that you can use it for other things too once the puppy days are over. :) I have planned on getting my "kit" piecemill and bypassing some of the little stuff that you already have around the house (since I'm a pharmacy technician I seem to have gathered some of these items inadvertantly). |
Congrats ..Wishing you luck on the babies ..hope everything go smooth for you and the mommie...Sherry |

Editted to say that you don't have to go with a scale as large as what I did, I ship out larger items and wanted the capability of weighing up to 50 lbs at home. He has smaller scales that do the same things for cheaper...Here's one! |
Awesome! Thanks so much!! |
