I need help. Anyone??? For anyone who knows me from here I lost my little Lucy Tuesday around 11:30 a.m. I would rather not discuss what happened so please don't ask. Thank you. She was only 14 weeks and we only had her 6 weeks but she was the love of my life. (She was my first inside dog) Ok now here's what is happening - I know some of you will think it is to soon but my husband and I have decided to get a new puppy right away. It's not to replace our little girl b/c no dog will ever replace her but we feel like there's a big chunk missing from us and we have to much love to give not to have another little puppy to spend it on. We are going friday to boone ( about 2 1/2 hrs. away ) to look at a new little girl. She is 9 weeks old. Here is what's concerning me . The lady told my husband that she had a small umbilical hernia that she got from birth. She just had surgery to remove last week. Has anyone heard of this. Is there any problems or complications that can come from this. I may one day like to have a litter with my mom's male yorkie, could this possibly cause problems with the pregnancy. Thanks for your help Crysta Sander |
umbilical hernias can happen when the mom tugs on the chords too much or too hard. It happens and is not hereditary. NOW, abdominal hernias ARE hereditary and should NOT be bred. But you can tell the difference when you go look. Ask to see the surgery scar. If it's by the belly button, then you should be safe. But, if in doubt, call your vet and ask them. Best of luck! |
