Anyone had an all male litter or all female litter? Has anyone ever had litters of all the same sex (all female or all male)? Just curious. |
Yes. My daughter, Suz, had two litters recently. Ginger's were all boys (4) and Cujo's were all girls (3). I think that is the first time I ever saw this. |
I know a lady who said her friend's yorkie had an all female litter. 4 puppies I believe. For some reason, it seems that more male yorkie puppies are produced more than anything. Most of the yorkie I have been seeing for sale over the net are all males. (mostly males anyway) It seems most litters only produce 1 or 2 females. And that is why they are such in high demand. I am still trying to convince my mom that if we can't get a female, there is nothing wrong about getting a male. I wanted a female bad too. But, if a male is all I can get, I would still love him to pieces. My mom's main reason is the peeing on the walls, but I know several people that own male yorkies. And they said their males don't cock their legs in the house. Anyone else had an all female or male litter? |
bunjee was part of an all male litter. the breeder said the last litter from the same parents was all female. |
Last year , 2 of my girl had litters with all females . |
Zeus' breeder just had an all male litter a few months ago. I had hoped to get a little girl from that litter. Oh well, there's always next time! :) |
litters The most all male litter I had was 5 boys..and most female was 6 girls..then a week later I got another litter of 5 girls. This year I didn't get any mixed litters...Claire had all boys and Charlotte had all girls. |
I had a litter of 5 girls Feb 2005. |
Gracie's first litter was a litter of 4 girls. I know of someone that had a litter of 7 boys last year. |

My Pebbles first litter was all girls(3). My Winnie had 4 girls this year (Rocky the sire of both litters). I've had 2 and 2 but have never had all males. My Rocky seems to throw more females... isn't that the case.... the male determines the sex of the pups and the female determines how many pups???? I think I read that somewhere. |
The breeder I got Logan from just had a litter of 5 girls a month ago. She only has one male and one female. Logan's litter has 2 boys & 1girl. I wanted one of the girls really bad, but me and my husband decided to wait until we get Logan fully trained before bringing another one into the house. |
I was asking because we have our heart set on getting a female yorkie puppy. But, the lady we may get a puppy from has already promised a female to her daughter. Then, the lady who provided the stud service gets pick of the litter. She will probably pick a female too if another one is available. So, we are 3rd on the list for a puppy. (4 puppies are expected) 3 females would have to be produced in order for us to have one. Seeing that some of you had an all female litter gave me some hope. |
