I need your advice 2 Attachment(s) I would like to have your opinion as breeders. My kissie is due soon. Today she has an X-ray. I post here the pictures to have your opinion how many puppies you see there to compare with what they told me. Thank you for your help. |
No expert here but I think I see 4 spines |
I am thinking five :) |
I think 5 lol |
4 definite spines and skulls possibly a 5th spine skull could be behind other pups. |
They told me only 3 but I see 4 and you seem to see 5. It's so confusing and I feel so nervous. Yesterday her temperature was 101.4. This morning 99.2. Do you think she will begin to be in labour. I'm at work. My son is home but I need to be with her when the moment arrives in case of some emergency. Sorry to bother you but I am not a breeder. I'm new in this but i saw so many videos and read so much that I think I will be able to help in case she needs it. So excited but so worry at the same time. Please help me.:animal36:confused: |
i dont have any advice but i see 4 for sure. i hope all goes well with no problems. |
Is she still eating? She will start looking around for a place to have them. And be restless What day are you on? |
And you can see 3 clearly but there maybe one or more hiding. :) |
This morning she ate some chicken breast and ricotta cheese, also a treat. She didn't seem restless to me. I don't know exactly the day that the male mated her. It has to be around 16 or 17 october. How many days it that? The vet told me that one the puppy has already his head in the birth canal. Do you see that? I'm very bad with xray reading and even ultrasound when I was myself pregnant. Thank you for your precious help. I love having many opinions. I don't feel alone in this adventure... |
56,55 days. They usually go between 63 and 65 days. I think she will at least have four. But I am not a vet either. They know better what they are looking at. I would have everything ready. But you should have a few days yet. The pudding they say is a must. When I had pups I had special food the vet gave me to give Lexi. But I did have all the other supplies right next to me just in case. |
Where do you buy the pudding or it has to be homemade? For the rest I think I'm almost ready. I feel like a nurse. Lol. Today I will buy a scale. I have a crate for later but I think i will buy a playpen. OMG so many expenses. I pray G-d not to have to face a c-section. It's so expensive... |
I see three heads, three spines. editing... on rechecking, with the over head my daughter and I see 4. |
Oh! How exciting!!! I would say plan on 4 or 5... then you'll be over prepared instead of under. I think I see 4 spines with possibly a 5th. But again, I'm no expert. :) Tenley had her puppies 2 weeks ago. I took her in on day 50 because that is what my vet wanted, and we saw only 3 spines with maybe a 4th. He told me to bring her in again in a week, just so we could make sure. And BOY am I GLAD we did! She had SEVEN puppies in there!!! It's amazing what that week did for the x-ray. Good luck with everything! The whelping pudding is great. I gave it to Tenley (in liquid form, not with the gelatin because she didn't like it that way) during whelping and still give it to her when she gets picky with her food. Also, Red Raspberry Leaf Syrup from revivalanimal.com = AMAZING. I gave it to Tenley for a week before she had puppies, during whelping and then for a couple days after, just to make sure everything was cleaned out. She whelped so easily, and I really think part of it was the raspberry. Can't wait to hear how things go! :) |
The pudding is homemade, there is a sticky for it on this forum. I bought the goats milk at walmart. At my walmart it's on the bottom shelf of the baking goods aisle, by the evaporated and condensed milks. Cheaper than a play pen is a plastic bin that slides under the bed (or any kind of box/bin that height/size...) plus, if that is where they are going to be whelping, it's easier to reach into to help out. We kept ours in that until last night, when we moved them into the x pen. That is working out nicely as now there is more room for momma to nurse those growing babes. :) If you are going to keep them in a carpeted room for a while, I suggest buying some heavy vinyl to lay over the carpet. I got mine at our local walmart, in the fabric section. I want to say it was about $2 a yard, and I bought 2 or 3 yards to have under and around the whelping box. SAVED MY CARPET! :) |
I see three puppies, but easily one could be in hiding. And yes R view shows one puppy presenting at this point in time as a breech. It is important; did the vet do a pelvic measurement to see if there is a good chance of free whelping for her? Temperatures, some females can go all over the place with temps. Look at this as a guideline rather than a hard and fast rule. Whelping pudding recipe is on this forum up at the top. Have a calcium supplement handy too. For after whelping is done. Lots of toweling or old sheets. Have your vet on speed dial, and know where you can get emergency help fast. Your vets? Or ER - Preprogram route into your GPS. Learn signs of whelping distress fast!. Have a travel emergency kit ready by the front door. Blankets especially to keep her warm. |
Thank you everyone for all your advices and opinions. Very helpful. I will keep you posted. |
Lots of great advice. Keep us posted.:) |
