Our breeder is excited about Toto's progress!! Spoke with our breeder this evening and boy is she anxious to see Toto!! I keep her updated on her progress but she hasn't seen her since we bought her. We plan to get together in Biloxi, MS at a show down there next week ... Toto's Dad has been doing really well this year! I show her his picture online all the time ... she smiles!! :p I'm sure it will be a sweet reunion! ;) |
Aww, that's sweet. I need to go drive up and take some pix of Yoda's birth Mommy and Daddy! I wonder how he will react to them after 2 years away! Let us know how Toto reacts to his Poppa, bettyeanne! :) |
Thanks! I often wonder if they "miss" their offspring or if the babies miss their mommies or littermates? I thought about if a lot when we first got Toto. |
Oh you lucky girl! I absolutely LOVE dog shows! You will learn SO MUCH while you are there! In my experience, the pups miss their mom and littermates for the first 24 hours and then get right over it when they bond to you. The moms and dads don't seem to miss 'em at all.....or at least for only a VERY short time. Higgins mom was such a wonderful dog! Don was showing the breeder our GPS in the car and the mom hopped right in! She was so bright and friendly. Higgins dad was a little tentative, but didn't mind when I picked him up and held him. He just wanted to go back to reading his newspaper, thank you. Have fun at the show! Let us know ALL about it! |

Yes , Jesse is Toto's half - brother . I have had the chance to see Kirsten McGregor at a few dogshows in Canada. She is excellent as an handler . |
Bettyeanne - Too bad Toto is missing this opportunity to meet his Daddy and for you to visit with his breeder. I'm sure you are looking forward to scheduling another date to visit. I am sorry about your Mom not feeling well. Hugs to Toto !! :aimeeyork |
Thanks, Shatzie's Mom! Strange that this thread came back to the top! Toto & I are actually home right now! We flew home last week and Patrick is driving down to bring my car to Colorado. We stored it when we went up because I figured I probably wouldn't need it there ... I do!! Grand Junction only has one Taxi service and although I have gotten to know almost all the drivers, it's still a "pain" to get around. Toto had an appointment early yesterday with Dr. Lucy and she told me that Ava was bringing some Yorkie babies over yesterday afternoon!!! We had our appointment at 9 AM! Soooo ... since I never seem to be able to plan a visit with her in Marietta, Toto and I drove back down to see her! She was more than pleased with Toto's progress! She is such a great breeder and it's gotta be a great feeling for her to know she has done a good job for the breed! Having already gotten a "stern" reprimand from Dr. Lucy about Toto's weight ... yep .... got another one from Ava!!! :) Between the three of us we have a plan for Miss Prissy Paws and she is not going to be happy but hopefully after she sheds her two extra pounds and gets on her maintainence diet along with the extra exercise I have planned for her, she will begin to build muscle in place of the fat!! I will have to be very strict with her because it's going to ward off any future medical problems that she could develop. We have worked so hard to have a healthy baby it would be a shame to be lax on this one thing! It's just so hard to refuse her anything!! :) I'm looking forward to getting back to Colorado and start our plan. ;) Toto sends bit "fat" puppy kisses to Shatzie!! Diego, thanks! We were at least able to see Kirsten and Wyatt in the Nationals & Westminster on TV. Wyatt is on the road nearly all the time so hopefully we will get to a show. Ava is going to send me their schedule. :) |
Yay for Toto! I'm so glad to hear you got to see your breeder again! Did she end up giving her a hair cut? Sandy is on a diet too -- poor baby. She looks at me with those eyes when I'm eating and I know how she got overweight to begin with. Our vet gave us a plan to slim her down as well, so hopefully she'll be trim soon. :D |

Fortunately for me, Toto doesn't look "sad-eyed" at me when I eat because I have never given her little bites from my food .... Patrick is another story!! It makes me sad to see the way she looks at HIM when we are eating!! It's toooo funny ... I will catch her begging him and she kinda glances my way when she thinks I'm not looking!! :) He swears he never gives her anything on purpose but if he "accidentally" drops anything she just scarfs if up! Yeah .... and if you believe that .... !! ;) |
