A question for someone experience in breeding Hi, I recently adopted 2 yorkies boy and a girl they are really tiny yorkies boy weight 1.8kg and girl 1.6kg, they are 2 years old and they are best friends but from the day they came the boy was crazy running around the girl and trying mount her. She was very angry with him and everytime he tried she lied down. She doesn't have any bleeding, but 2 days ago when he tried to mount her she lied on the floor and when she stand up I saw the floor was slightly pink and the I saw her bed it was the same. ok from that they it stoped and I haven't seen anymore signs of bleed anywhere and he is not crazy anymore running trying to catch her. Could be that she was in heat? Please help me I have no experience with that  |
It sounds like they are too tiny to be breeding |
Hi, It does sound like she may be in heat... Is it yourself with these pups in the europe forum trying to rehome them? (sorry, I'm on my phone so can't easily check). Do you have the means to keep them separate for a few weeks? She may Need a mismate just to be safe- You cannot risk this little girl getting pregnant so small. |
You need to get her to a vet to determine if she is in heat or if she has an infection, either uterine if she is not spayed or bladder infection, possible bladder stones. Infections will also cause a male to try to mount, not just a female being in season. |

I agree and I also agree with Chachi, who said that your little girl is too small, if I'm converting correctly she's only 3 1/2 pounds, and a pregnancy could cause her death, it will be way too hard on her joints, please have you babies spayed and neutered, they will be healthier and happier! |
Oh my I just about gave myself heart failure not reading close enough lol. I thought she said the female was 1.6 "lbs". Hopefully a vet will be able to help you with this situation. If not in heat there has to be a reason for the bleeding. |
Okay not only do you need to get her to a Vet, to determine if there is infection and or injury, from right now you have to separate them. Judge that she is in heat, is the safest course. They must be crated and rotated. Meaning only one dog out to exercise and then to have some roam and hug time in the house, then that dog is crated and you do the same walk feed exercise hug etc. They are both to be crated when you are sleeping or out of the house. And your girl is too small to carry safely a pregnancy. |
