Halle's X-ray pics: Do you see 4......or 5?

Halle is due to have puppies in just over a week; today was x-ray day!! It's always so fun to see the skeletons of those puppies & finding out how many we are having. My vet said they all look very well developed with no delivery problems foreseen as far as head/pelvic size goes.

At the vets office we clearly saw 4 puppy skulls. But when I got home and put the pics on my computer I saw something that confused me a little. Could there be a 5th???? Or is the angle of the x-ray playing tricks with me???

Take a look at these pictures with my notes added and tell me what you think..........

But it sure is exciting!! I can definitely see the 4 . . .:thumbup: You know, now that I look again at the 2nd x-ray . . .it looks like 5 . . .

Maybe most of us aren't breeders, butthink looking at x-rays is kinda interesting...like solving a puzzle! I see four spines & four skulls.

Could the one pup have moved a little between "takes"? Maybe she's model material and she was trying to show her best side :D

That is so cool!! I see 4, but I do see what you are talking about from the different angle...the head is completely opposite where it was in the first view??? Could that fetus flipped?

4 four sure - could be a 5th hiding out in there but I am not 100% certain. could be that the one baby just moved between takes. Good luck and wishing you a healthy welp!

Well thanks guys.........We are certain there are 4 puppies there; it wasn't until after I got home that I noticed that very definite skull in the vertical picture. Don't know how I missed it at the vets office, nor do I remember her mentioning it either; unless it is one and the same with the skull in mid section in the horizontal x-ray. I must have been to busy getting my pictures taken of the xrays to remember exactly what was pointed out where.

I see the opposite !! 1. = 5 and 2. = 4

That is what I see also. There seems to be a baby , whose head is hidden behind puppy #1 and #2, on the horizontal view....

Thanks ladies for your input and well wishes. Gosh, if there are 5 that would be the largest Yorkie litter I've helped whelp and certainly Halle's as well. Halle had a large singleton (almost 7 oz) on her first pregnancy, and 3 the last time. She is definitely MUCH bigger this time around. This coming Saturday is her first due date.............I will keep you all posted.

Halle had her puppies on Saturday, March 31st. Our vet was right, there were just the 4 puppies. I shouldn't say "just", because four puppies is a nice size litter. Halle whelped 2 girls and 2 boys, all healthy & beautiful with no problems. Watch them grow in the nursery.........

Cozy's xrays showed 3 for 1 St litter and 4 for 2nd litter. She had 5 pups each litter.
Looks like 5 to me. Best of luck to you and the little fur family.

Good Luck and prayers! My Jasmine just had 5 on Monday (day 57) U/S saw 4! I have Willow due any day U/S also saw 4.
