What is an F1 puppy? Decided to see what Princess's breeder is up to these days & found these listings. There were more yesterday, but I guess they've sold. So she sells: Yorkies Irish Wolfhounds Pomeranians & now Yorkie Poms (this one is teeny, tiny, hybrid, pocket puppy & so on.:( Says she can make F1 puppies-just wondered what that means. Oh, and the mom's have been about 4#. Yikes. Pomeranian Puppies for Sale: Pocketpuppy |
I always understood F1 to be the first generation offspring from two purbred parents of different breeds. |
F1 = 1st generation puppy -50% purebred-A and 50% purebred-B - for example, a Golden Retriever to Poodle cross, this is first generation, resulting in healthier offspring. In this particular Goldendoodle cross hair type can be smooth like a Golden, wirey look like a Irish wolfhound or Wavy/shaggy, they can shed or not shed, pups in the same litter can vary. This is not the best cross for people with severe allergies. |
They aren't healthier, they can have anything go wrong as in any dog. Bad sellers use these selling ploys to sell their wares. :thumbdown:thumbdown |
that is the definition on the breeders site. I don't agree, but is the Formal definition of F-1. hugs, |
