Breeders in the Midwest (Illinois) I think I'm ready...I lost my 12 year old Yorkie Samson last year, it still hurts to think of him being gone but I want to start looking...Can anyone recommend a good breeder in Illinois or one of the neighboring states? |
I would look on the YTCA website they have a listing of breeders in all areas |

So sorry for the loss of your beloved companion. Good luck in your search for a new love. YTCA is the best place to start;) |
MKD, I am so so sorry about Samson, if you had him from when he was a baby - I know he was your everything!! Here is a web site that list breeders by state I hope it helps. Yorkie Breeders Search by State I lost my last little girl over 5 years ago and for us that are owned by a yorkie I think the only way to try and heal from that loss is to have another little yorkie. Not as a replacement, because my girls were as different as night and day, they just help you move on. We have not gotten another girl but there is not a day that goes by that we don't talk about her or adopting another. Circumstances stand in the way. Don't be in a big hurry, get the healthiest little one you can and really check out the breeder and let her/him check and ask you as many questions as need be. Check with this breeder in Michigan at Rhapsody Yorkies she has a very helpful web site. |
I live in Michigan and have a German Yorkie - Biewer ready to find his forever home. He is a full bred Biewer, both parents are registered IBC and BBIR. He is charting to be 6.5-7 pounds full grown. Send me a message if you are interested. |
Oh the pain of losing a beloved family member :cry8:, I know how difficult that is. I live in Nebraska and breed both Yorkies & Biewer Terriers. I have a litter of Biewers born just 3 days ago (3 male & 1 female) and plan to breed my female Yorkie on her next heat (in January). Of course the Biewer pups won't be ready for their forever homes until mid March, which will probably be about the same time that my Yorkie will have her litter should she become pregnant. If you are not in a big hurry for a pup & would like to see them & watch them grow, please check out my website. I post weekly updated pictures there whenever I have a litter. You can also visit my "Past pups" page to see some that have gone to their forever homes as well. Good luck with your search; your new puppy will never replace Samson, but will surely bring much new joy to your life. |
Thank you all..I think I will start at the YTCA and go from there...I appreciate those replies from distant states but I find it important to me that I meet my new little one before hand so would not be wanting to purchase and have him shipped....IL, IN, MI, WI would most likely be the best for me for travel purposes.... I still welcome any suggestions! I will be looking for a male..no tiny teacups please. |
We are now the proud parents of a little male "Bruiser"... adorable of course! Thanks everyone for your help & input! |
Congratulations!! Where did you end of finding him? Love to see pictures. |
Hi Patti... We drove up to New Berlin, WI on New Years Eve Day and picked him up.. Let me figure out the pics on this site & I will post. Are you still looking? |
