1st Time... Mine and Abbies first litter... Abbie is about 1 to 2 weeks from whelping... Over the holiday she started having some discharge. Nothing of color. Today she is spotting. What does this mean? She is going to the vet, but just wanted to know something from you guys... |
Me too!! =) :) Actually my kiki was just bred last week...so I am not sure if she's really pregnant yet ...but good luck on everything and keep us posted ... =) |
Annabelle just had her litter last week and she too had a clear discharge for about 1-2 weeks prior. I never sow her spotting though. It could be that your little one is cleaning her self to vigorously. Let us know what te vet says. |
The vet said that she def. had two little ones but he didn't feel for more. Those were very obvious. They are still moving. So it is looking good... Now is the waiting game.. Prolly This weekend or next week. Her stomach is changing everyday now. So we will see... And good luck to you too... Candace maybe your baby will be pregnant too. |
Are you planning on getting X-rays? I have always opted for them , just so I will have a better idea at how big they will be and so I will know how many. Good luck let us know when the time comes. |
My First Litter Too 4 Attachment(s) Hi everyone, I just had my 1st litter also and it was soooooooooooo scary. My girl too had discarge prior to whelping. She went into labor on day 59 and had three little babies. I was so afraid as she didnt have any milk in yet , but 20 minutes later there it was. I did have xrays on day 58 to see how many were babies she had inside. I also took her temp during the last two weeks everyday in the morning. She dropped temp aprox 2-3 days before whelping. It fell to 97.6 wow, i new she was getting ready but my Vet said NO WAY, to soon. He said i was just being paranoid. Ha, well so much for paranoia. I was Right, 2 days later here they were. Good luck with you new babies and may they all be just wonderful. |
WOW Thanks! That really helped. I am so scared. I didn't really want to do this to her. I didn't get her to bread. I planned on getting her fixed. My best friend had Abbie's mom. She was ate by a big dog. So then being the nice person I am gave in and here we are. SO maybe in a week I will be on here saying We made it through! |
My girls always have a discharge about 2-3 weeks before they whelp.. When you say your girl is spotting are you talking just discharge or a bloody discharge? I just had a girl of mine start to spot with a bloody discharge and she lost her litter.. I ran her to my vet right away and the litter was gone! My vet has put her on an antibotic to make sure that she does not get an infection.. Please keep us updated on your girl and let us know when she whelps and be sure to share pictures of your babies.. ;) Melanie |
Looking forward to seeing some beautiful little babies soon! Hope it all goes super smooth for you!!!! |
Thanks. I thought that she was going to start having them last night. Her behavior was so weird. I took her temp it was 99 exactly Monday it was 101 This morning it was 97 so we are def. getting somewhere. I can still feel and see the puppies moving so that gives me hope. She is just so miserable. I wish I could do it for her. --- That sounds almost sick--- Goodness, I finally figured it out.... Everyone is right. I am obsessed with my yorkie! |

I Had A 1st Time..Now We Are Due Again Just After X-Mas HI - My LiL'Bit already has had one litter but I was the same way..so worried. She is about 6.5 pds and my male Yorkie Pismo is about 9 pounds...She had 3 males and 1 female. She gave birth but the first one died because I wasn't with her at the exact moment and she did not uncover the face first of the pup so it did not survive..she and I both were upset...BUT...the other two males and little female ended up just great! She is now due again the week after X-Mas and I am not going to miss one minute of it. Bitty (as I call her) really never had a bit of trouble..BUT..as the other person said...I get a sonogram done on her about three weeks before the puppies are due. I also do it for the same reason as the other person...I want to know how many she is going to have and what she and I might have to go through...I recommend it. **Also If No One has told you..you need to ask your vet about when you girl starts nursing she could have the possibility of her potassium dropping and that is very very dangerous! It happened to my Bitty and I almost lost her when the pups were about 6 weeks old. I quess when she was nursing them they just took everything out of her. My vet now provides me with some shots to give to her if this starts to happen. Bitty has no problem getting the shots...BUT..OF COURSE "SHE IS WONDERFUL AND I LOVE HER" ! Hope I didn't write too much...But How We Love Are Angels..Right?? Good Luck Sandie L. |
Well I love to hear stories so that I can sorta know what to expect. So no you didn't write to much. Abbie is so much of a mama's girl I am afraid she isn't going to want to do anything to the puppies or she isn't going to know what to do. I know she will probably pick it right up - but hey she is my baby - I worry about her. |
i am anxious right along with you. i can't wait for your babies to be born and know that they are alright. |
here is the link to Abbie's pups...if you haven't seen my other post http://www.yorkietalk.com/gallery/sh...ry.php?cat=668 |
