I've always thought that the ear thing had something to do with the gene. I never thought that you can train ears to stand, interesting. |

Ive bred yorkies all my life the best way that ive notice is u take a tampon open it up take it as far down into the ear as possible it does not hurt or damage the ear this is actually a way vets do it once the tampon with cushion is inserted in the ear u then tape it up and i prefer shaving all hairs. So it can b light weight. For standing the younger the better will stand up quicker hope this helps |

Nothing like a multi-tasking tampon, for petes sake :D! |
My opinion For what it is worth, I think they are beautiful with erect ears or floppy ones. I would never return my furbaby because she had floppy ears.:( |
Have you had any luck getting ears to stand? Being cartilage I would think at this age it would already have memory and go back the way it was. If done early I do think it would be possible to set the cartilage in an upright position, but I have never tried it. I do think there must be a genetic component because I have never had a puppy not have its ears up by 8 weeks. I have a friend that bred a dam with floppy ears and a male with erect ears and she would have some puppies with ears up and some down or even one up/one down. |
