I'm on my way to Home Depot. I was wondering what to do with my baby during the day. Can the dogs get out once they are older?[/QUOTE They may jump out when older. Then you might want to get 2 more 3 foot panels to lay on the top. It's really cool. If you lay the vinly tablecloth with the plastic side up you can tape the pee pads to it..lolol..after several litters I've perfected this..PRESTO...roflll...lolo.. (How do you spell Voowahla??...lololol) Hugs Wini |
"Vwaa-laaa"! theres so many ways to express it...hee hee. i've loved reading this thread...love the pic of your little pup pen/room. very nice. |
3 Attachment(s) this is what i use... although i have more of the plastic one's from " babys r us" than i do the gaulvanized steel ones now... you can see the white plastic one in 2 of the pics...sorry , best i can do as far as pics of that kind...all my pics are stored on disks... they are easier to move around and you can combine them to make really big one's. my groom shop has metal ones and plastic. i am happier with the plastic at this time. |
that really is a good idea. i wish i had thought of that. what i have done is make a pen by using pvc. make about a 4 foot square and make it as high as you want. i got some cheap $1.00 yd canvas type material at walmart and sewed it like curtains(using the pvc as a curtain rod, top and bottom). am i saying that right? any way it is cheap and nothing there to let them get hurt. right now it is high enough to keep the pups in and ahia can jump out. once they get where they might escape i will make it higher. around $20. |
I always suggest the Xpen. You can actually make one for around $30. Go to Home Depot or Lowes and buy the white space saver closet shelving. I bought a 12 foot long panel that is 18 inches high. I had it cut (they cut it for me at the store) into 3, 4 foot sections connect them with the zip ties and vioala. You can buy smaller panels to make a lid for the top. This is the less expensive way to safely confine your puppy while giving them room to potty, play, eat, and sleep. I lay a vinyl table cloth to prevent and leaks. What a great idea... and looks nice too!!!! |
What to put into playpen? So i got all my stuff..i'm so excited..i'm going to have Charlie in a couple of hours. But anyways..What should i put in there? Cause i'm getting mixed messages.. Does the food, bedding, crate, pee-pads and toys go in there? Someone told me not to put the pee pad..but how is it going to relieve itself when i am away at school for a couple of hours? I'm getting super confused...Can you guys post pictures of your play pen so I get a general idea?? Thanks!!! |
3 Attachment(s) I bought a play Yard from Sears. They have it in Walmart I think also.I paid $64 but I plan to use it always ,especially when I go out .The same type is sold in Petco for $119! lol Since your puppy will be at least 8 weeks old ,he will not fit through the corners. Mine is only 5 weeks old and he just learned that he fits through a corner lol. I fixed that problem in a minute! lol I put a small piece of cardboard on the outside. Now he thinks is in a new place lol. Genie,Cookie,Lola ,Angel & lucky |
If you put him in a crate that is different but an Xpen or Play Yard? I put a pee pad on one side. He has been going to the pee pad since he was 3 weeks old. If you are planning on Pee Pad training then I would put a pee pad in a Play Pen. Genie |
