Question on my little stud
 

I just had a question about letting my Kirby be a stud... There is a really nice lady that has a female Yorkie and she wants to use Kirby for breeding with her lil girl, She said she should take him for a week??? I don't know if I can be without my Kirby for that long!! Is it normal to have them for so long?? He has never been without me and he is such a Mama's boy. Also will he act different if I let him do this? I want him to still be my baby!! The mom is 8 lbs and Kirby is 6.5. She came over to let us meet her lil girl and she is a cutie. I would like to breed him with her but I don't want him gone so long?? Any suggestions?? Thanks!! Melissa I attached a picture of Emma and Kirby... Kirby didn't know what to think her being here. Usually a female will go to the stud's home. It is best that the male is in his area so he doesn't spend all of his time getting used to a new place first.

Unless you know the person really well I wouldnt let him stay there for a week. Usually the female is taken to the stud...I just did this last summer. I took my girl to a dear friend to use her stud. I left her for 2 weeks. It was tough, but I knew she was in the best hands.

Does this person have more than one yorkie? I'm not trying to say that anything like this is going on, but in a town near me a person took their stud to a breeder and the breeder used the stud on 3 different females and didnt give any credit to the stud owner other than for one litter. I think they were dishonest on paperwork also. (this is still being investigated, so i can't say for sure what is going on there, but something fishy definitely happened) and even though they used her stud on all the girls, they registered the pups as belonging to their stud. why? beats me. Alot of speculation has been going around that the breeders in question liked the size and look of the paticular stud better, but their stud had the better pedigree. I truly hope AKC does a full investigation and dna's all the puppies in question. I would be extremely upset if i aquired a puppy that was not out of the parents i was told.

Great! i'm glad to hear that. If you decide to go for it, let us know what happens... would she be willing to bring her little girl over to you a few times a week? Just a thought. You could take him to her and there would most likely not be a problem. Males do seem to perform better in their own environment though.

things you need to consider ...first your little man will no longer be house trained the moment you let him experience a "Studs Life", second I would ask if she has been bred before, if so she must do a STD test before mating, for the safety of your male, third you both need to learn about breeding she obviously doesnt know a lot if she suggests the male should go to her house.
