Didn't work for me either.....I would hold the babes up to her so she could help with the diapering.....But, after she had dried up and they were about 4 weeks of age I'd allow her in with them and she'd clean them....

Yes I was just sharing my story and experience as I know when I am going through things I like to consider different situations.
Her situation is different than mine as most will not have the same experience. I thought the OP might want to hear my experience.

I must have been lucky, the onsie fit her to a "T". My diaper idea also aided as well.

I undersand, experiences are nice to share and you gave her some great advice in your first post.....I think this is her first litter and she needs all the advice/help we can give her.

Her situation is a bleek one, puppies a week premature and underdeveloped, she's going to be operating on no sleep and high emotion.

thank you soo much for all of ya'lls input.. they are all still at the vet for overnight observation. so far Cinnamon is doing fine, but two have died and one of the two that are alive is not doing so well... she still has one more in there they are waiting on... I have gotten some mixed input on tube feeding... so I don't really know what to do there.. tomorrow I am going to go to the store to get everything I will need to keep the puppy warm, is there anything else anyone can think of? so basically I need a heating pad or a lamp, small place to put them in, some of the supplements that were talked about, anything else? I don't know what I will do if I lose them all...... I will update about the last puppy when I hear something..

So, they haven't c-sectioned her.....I hope all is ok.

I hope you don't lose them all either, but if comes to that, think of it this way. You're Cinnamon is fine and the possibility exists that the puppies that passed had lived they may have had something seriously wrong with them.

Here's another thought. You said your girls calcium levels were only slightly off. There is a possibility that there is an underlying problem (infection caused by something going onwith her reproductive organs i.e. a tear in her uterus/horn). This can cause calcium levels to go off and a blood test not ever revealing there is an infection. The infection could have caused her to prematurely whelp. Now if this is the case her coagulation levels will be off and can show possible anemia.

I am so sorry for your loss...Unfortunately these babies just may be too too early...Their lungs may not have had enough time to finish developing...I will pray tonight that Mom does well and again I am so sorry for your loss!

Hopefully Cinnamon comes through this okay and that any surviving babies are strong enough to fight.

You will be extremely busy with the care of these babies. They will need around the clock care with no letup. I can't stress enough about keeping them very warm. Also the feeding must be done around the clock.

Tube feeding has its advantages but has drawbacks too. Another option is to use an eyedropper. This works well but is slow. If the babies are too weak to suckle, the eyedropper or tube feeding will be your only options. Bottle feeding won't work. The main point to remember is to not over-feed with either method or feed too fast (if using an eye dropper). Formula could get into the lungs with either method. As I mentioned earlier, it may be best to cut the feeding amount down but feed more often. A too full belly can cause aspiration and the digestive system is delicate, too.

So much depends on the condition of the babies, but they are premature and it's safe to say they will need intensive care. Hopefully Cinnamon is well enough so that you can focus on the babies, but of course, she can't be ignored. You will have your hands full, even if there's only one survivor.

Also, make sure the babies don't get chilled during their transport home. Keep the car very warm and you can put them in a box (or even a small ice chest) with some towels warmed in the dryer. If the vet has a microwave, you could re-warm the towels before leaving the office. Have the room they'll be in pre-heated and the heating pad in place and warmed up. Warmth and proper feeding will be key to them making it.

My repro vet provided me with large bags of solution that could be heated in the micro wave.....they worked great.....

Aspiration is something I always worry about. Eyedropper feeding is a good way to prevent a pup from aspirating. I graduated to syringes with a nipple attached. It gave me control on the amount of milk I pushed to the nipple, less air being swallowed by the pup....and of course due to the cc/ml on the syringe I could monitor the intake of milk.

By the way.....not to steal this thread....pictures of Junior are in order.

Mary, I know you've mentioned about sub-qing the babies. Should that be done on an as needed basis or should one be pro-active with it and assume they need the extra hydration? I know about the importance of hydration but am unsure on what to advise for the OP.
