thank you. I just want honest opinions, no matter how harsh. LOL. I dont want to get ripped off and I dont want to support a BYB, but I am having a very hard time finding a puppy that everything I want close to me, so the internets has been my only option. |

She is planning on breeding 3 pound dogs and justifies it by saying she hopes they put on another pound. You do not try to fatten up a tiny dam to breed them -- you don't breed less than 5 pounds at their regular weight. She advertises teacups everywhere, apple heads, teddy bear faces, etc. She is selling/breeding gold and chocolate yorkies. It appears she breeds gold and chocolate yorkies to parti's and then calls them carriers of whichever side they don't look like. She is breeding curly haired yorkies. She is selling parti-yorkies, yorkies, and maltese. I always get a funny feeling about anyone breeding both yorkies and maltese then coming up with parti-yorkies. She charges more for small sizes and AKC disqualifying colors. The site just gives an overall feeling of someone out to make a lot of money (Charging $3500 for some of the pups) and not too particular about how they go about doing that. I definately saw NO regard to the AKC standard. In summary -- my opinion is that I would not use the breeder. |

I think you guys are right, I just talked to her again, and she just now informed me that Tiny Tyler, the one I wanted, has a broken leg and only 1 testy. When I told her I thought I was going to pass, she offered to drop his price down to $2500, with full AKC reg. I thought dogs couldnt breed with one testy? Not that I am looking to breed, it was just kind of odd to me... |
It is odd. Take your time and keep looking. |

I think you are wise to keep looking and kudos to you for taking your time, researching and being determined to find a ethical breeder. You will be glad you did in the long run. :) |
I put a deposit for one of the yorkies shown on their website. These folks are wonderful people and I trust them a 1000%. I am so excited to bring home my pup this upcoming week before Christmas! Goldmine Yorkies are trustworthy folks! I would recommend any day... |
Oh sigh, you have got to be kidding us. First time poster on Breeder Talk. Who do you think you are kidding? Besides which even if you are for real, you have not even got your pup yet, how can you do a recommendation on the breeder? You have no idea how that pup will come to you, if there are any issues that might rear up in it's first year of life, never mind 3 or 4 yrs down the road |
I've heard only but great things from several different people who have purchased from they. They are clean and obviously love their yorkies. Why don't you come down from your country of CANADA and check them out and see for yourself. I'm sure you'll feel like a complete idiot after what you see. Don't speak negative about their puppies if you know NOTHING about the breeder and it's history. Thank you :) |

The contract speaks for itself. i don't care how many "customers" say they are great, i would never buy from or recommend them. And don't call gemy an idiot. |
What does her country of origin have to do with anything? I found your last post to be EXTREMELY rude. The fact that you just "happened" to find this thread and it's the ONLY one you've bothered to post on makes what you say suspect. ETA: I hope to heck if you truly are just a buyer, that you take the time to educate yourself on Florida Puppy Lemon Laws just so you can see how they try to weasel out of what is required under the law. |
.....and now they're offline, what a shock. |
I dont understand why people feel that others will believe them if they make an account, and go STRAIGHT to the thread posted about them.... lol, its kinda funny if you ask me... |
Boy did they ever come to the wrong place  |
Hmmmm only time will tell about goldmine Yorkies. I will keep you all posted about the pup that I will get from them in January. I've already set up appointments with a vet I went to undergrad with and she will make sure the pup's health is ok! This will be my first puppy in my life and I'm hoping everything runs smoothly. Luckily my job offers a great rate on pet insurance and I have that now. So that's a relief. But like I said earlier on this thread, I went to the breeders house and stayed for about an hour and met the pups parents and had all my questions answered by the breeders. They seem genuine and truly love their own Yorkies! But you guys are right, only time will tell. I will definitely inquire about their contract and all the points you all brought up. Definitely will tell u her answers when I talk to her. |

Here is only one thing concerning about their supposed health guarantee: Puppy must be took to a licensed vet within 48 hrs of receipt of puppy and call responsible for hypoglycemia.seller if there is a congenital life threatening, non-treatable condition only. A letter must come from licensed vet to seller stating diagnosis. Again, seller not What I bolded leaves the seller to "slip" out of a lot of congenital conditions. Wow your pup could test positive for liver shunt, and huh guess what that could be construed to be non life threatening. Ditto for grade 2/3/4 Lp, ditto for CERF, ditto for Legg Perthes, ditto for heart, thryoid. And there is nothing on their website which would even in the slightest entice me to travel 200o miles to purchase a pup, with no health checks, from dams n sires with no health checks, from non champions, with a breeder who doesnt' even offer a meaningfull to "me" the buyer health guarantee. |

Of course they will be super nice to you before you pay them. how they respond to you afterward is what we are trying to warn about. Their contract is ridiculous. It covers them not you. Just remember, if *god forbids* something happens to your puppy and they do not do anything for you, which they won't, don't forget the puppy lemon law, which is LAW and they like all other citizens are held up to it. the way the contract is worded proves what kind of people they are. they do not care about the dogs, they care about their bottom line. |
Good question. Really the answer assumes that for most of us, we are very busy around the holiday season, that our focus is naturally diverse. For pups, it is best to introduce at a time when the environment is quiet, and you can devote a lot of time to accimitazing your pup to your home and immediate family. Pups do need a lot of care, which at Christmas time with trees, decorations, and visitors coming in and out you cant easily handle. |

A reputable breeder will take the dog back at any point in its life. |

You should never say a breeder is good or bad until you have the pup and you have had the pup checked out. What if you said here that the breeder was great...then you took your pup to the vet and found out it had a million things wrong with it? Someone may read what you wrote and decide to get the pup and find out it has issues. All I am saying is that you need to always be leary of someone trying to sell you anything. A few conversations doesn't mean someone is good/bad. I get suspicious when I see someones first post saying how great a certain breeder is and to buy from them. |

I really like this yorkie forum. I've been reading a lot of posts on here and learning so much. Thanks to everyone that contributes on here! It's greatly appreciated! |
Another problem with bringing home a new pup at Christmas time is that, by their very nature, the decorations aren't puppy-proof! Toxic plants, candies and cookies galore, shiny ornaments and low blinking lights are pretty irresistable to pups. |
