Shopping for a baby
 
I am planning on purchasing a yorkie and am looking into some breeders. I found a website tinypuppy.com based in Texas they claim to sell puppies from their own litter as well as from five other friends. I am hesitant on purchasing online and would hope to be able to go see them and the puppies. However, before I take that trip I wanted to know if anyone has dealt with them or heard from them. Does anyone have any feedback on these breeders?

I haven't looked at the website. I'm not going to. The name says it all. If you are able to provide a good home, you can get a quality puppy from good lines. That is not a website a quality breeder would choose.

If you would like help finding one, let me know. I don't sell puppies. I would not reply to any private messages either. People that private message you have something to hide.

They say they specialize in Teacup Yorkies! That is a "I want more money for these babies" - they will let them go at 8-10 weeks, but if they keep them more than 12 weeks they charge boarding fees!
They say they advertise for other friends - sounds like puppy broker to me.
No reputable breeders will "specialize in teacup yorkies" - there is no such thing as a teacup.
Their only guarantee is a one year genetic guarantee.

Please look for another breeder.

I personally wouldnt buy from a breeder that uses the term "teacup or micro" that many times. It's basically a marketing ploy . Good breeders breed for standard size...not "Micro" size. Also they let their puppies go at 8 weeks.:thumbdown

There are tons of breeders here on YT...i would look here first.

It's very evident based on the price of these pups she's capitlizing on the "Teacup" phrase.

The prices being quoted are very close to what you'd be paying for a show dog from a reputable breeder with excellent bloodlines.

You have some great breeders in the Tri State area. Check out the YTCA.org breeder referral page. These breeders are close enough for you to go visit the breeder's home and build a relationship with the breeder.

You buy your breeder first, then your puppy.

Brokering for "friends" is another red flag. Reputable breeders care about where their puppies go and never use a middleman to sell them.

Thank you all for your feed back. I will look into the local breeders and move on from there. The last time I purchased a yorkie was a gift for my mom from a pet store. I will have more questions once I start meeting with some breeders. I am new to this process.

They sound like a broker/mill who breed for under sized dogs.

Also please dont buy another puppy from a pet store, most come from puppy mills.

I have to agree with what others have said, for the same reasons and then some.

From looking at the site, there are LOTS of red flags--aspects that people are generally warned to avoid. NOT the type of breeder I would recommend. :thumbdown

I wouldn't buy from anyone that even mentions they have tinies even on occassions. Even the slightest hint of a tiny I stay away but of course that is how I approach things :)
Yes, we sometimes have them but I would never advertise it on my website but of course I don't advertise I sell pups either. I use my website as a show off site of my dogs and their accomplishments only.
