Looking for a Yorkie Breeder Mentor
 
:aimeeyork:animal-paHi I am looking for a Yorkie Breeder Mentor in the Jackson, Michigan area but be willing to accept anyone in the surrounding Jackson area such as Lansing, Ann Arbor, or Detroit area. My girl Bittsy is due in approx. 2 weeks and was hoping I can find someone to mentor me and to be able to call in case my girl gets into trouble since this is our first delivery.If anyone would be interested in giving me a call and becoming my Yorkie companion/mentor that would be incredibly awesome and very helpful Thanks so much Tanisha Breton home phone 517-796-0259 email address TanishaBreton@aol.com if not home leave a message and I will call you back Thanks again!!!!

Perhaps the breeder of your female or the owner of the sire can help you. Make sure you have a vet lined up in case you need after hours care.

That's what I was going to suggest. You really don't have too much time, really is something you should had done way prior to your girl getting pregnant, but better late than never.

You are right, ideally it would have been best to have a mentor before breeding but what's done is done. I remember when my Dixie had her first litter, about 12 years ago, the people I bought her from were right there with me helping deliver the pups. It is always stressful when delivering pups, no matter how long you have done it. So many things can go wrong.

Hopefully this is the case now and the breeder she got her baby from will be there for support and helping with the delivery. I wonder if she has contacted them..

The Breeder lives 2 hours away in Indiana but I will have the stud mom with me and my friend who is a vet assistant.

I will have the stud's mommy there with me and still working on getting someone who is a breeder and has a lot of experience. I'm just scared and nervous and would never want anything to happen to my dog or the puppies.

Have you had all he proper health testing done on the mom and stud? how many pups is she expecting?

You should be scared.....breeding your so called beloved pet without any education or knowledge of breeding/whelping or without a mentor is careless. You should have thought of not wanting anything to happen to your dog or the puppies way before you even bred your girl.

I'm beyond upset, asking how to committ fraud on how to register these pups with AKC, breeding without obtaining a mentor......

Besides being unethical .......this is animal cruetly.

There is really nothing more to be said on your decisions and how they reflect so poorly against what is proper, humane and in the best interests of your girl and the breed.

I doubt, given so much else you've left to chance, that you have done the appropriate genetic prebreeding tests, researched your line,. and the sire's line. Nope I didn't think so, one can only hope you don't pass onto those pups and their future owners crippling and expensive diseases.

If you think these words are harsh, try being in the owners shoes, faced with LS, Leggs Perthe, LP Grade 4, and watching their pup suffer, needing to find the $ to help care for their pet, when with a BIT of care on your part your part, these owners would not have to suffer in this way.

You say you want to be a reputable breeder, but you blew it when you bred your girl without doing your homework first and having her properly tested and working with a mentor.

And no matter what your breeder told you- you can not register pups with the AKC unless BOTH the dam and sire are AKC registered, you got sold a bill of goods. Yes, the registry is dependent on the integrity of the breeder- and you've proven you don't have any.
