Recommended Oklahoma Yorkie Breeders Hi! I'm new to YorkieTalk. We lost our precious 16 year old yorkie Katie, suddenly last week to undiagnosed respiratory issue. She has been our "only child" the entire 16 years so we hardly know what to do with ourselves. We know that we will want to get another yorkie baby but want to take our time. We live in Oklahoma City. Does anyone have any recommendations for good reputable breeders in Oklahoma or surrouding states? Thanks! |
I am so sorry for the loss of your precious Katie. Sounds as though she had a good long life with you, you were blessed. Have you or would you consider a rescue yorkie? If so, Oklahoma is represented by a couple of different yorkie rescue groups, OK Yorkie Rescue out of the OKC area, and then I have two foster girls for Yorkie Haven Rescue. If rescue isn't for you right now, then I would contact someone with the Yorkshire Terrier Club of Oklahoma City (Ken Lambert). Oklahoma does have several reputable breeders, you just have to be careful and do your homework, as you are trying to do. Good Luck!:) American Kennel Club - Yorkshire Terrier Club of Oklahoma City - OKLAHOMA CITY - OK - 2814 |
Okla Breeders We got Bently from All-Star Yorkies. They are located in Atoka, Oklahoma. I second the previous poster about the Yorkie Rescue in Oklahoma. I was on their website yesterday and they have quite a few Yorkies that need homes. Good luck. |
Awww I'm soo deeply sorry for your loss!! :( |
I lost my Lexi about 2 months ago. She would have been 9 years last month. The pain is so deep. I am so sorry for your loss. Losing her was the reason why I came here. Peoples' genuine concern for their yorkies shows how devoted and and loving they are to their yorkies. It really eased my pain knowing how much love, care, and knowledge is passed around in this site. I hope time and YT helps heal your heart. :-) sorry for not helping you with your question but i'm sure you'll get some answers soon. :) |
I also want to offer my condolences about Katie. I'm glad you found Yorkie Talk, because it is a wonderful community. My little girl, Ashley, passed away almost a month ago. She would have been 17 this coming Monday, so I understand the pain you are feeling and how lost you are. No one will ever replace Katie, but I'm sure you will love your new baby when you find him/her. I didn't think it was possible to love another little one like I loved my first Yorkie. Then I got Ashley almost 17 years ago and her two sisters within a year. Each one completely stole our hearts. I am very sorry about your great loss. |
Thanks to everyone for your kind words. Vicki |
I bought a pup from Glenda Beavers and several others on here have dogs from her (my little girl on my avatar). She is in OK, but her dogs are not cheap. (She shows her dogs). Make sure you do your research before purchasing a pup :) Good luck. http://www.yorkieshowdogs.com/ |

I strongly recommend you contact the Yorkshire Terrier Club of Greater Oklahoma. The President of the Club is Ken Lambert/Also, a YTCA member. Ken is a Breeder/Handler. However, more than every he will put you in touch with the best breeders in the Oklahoma area. Ken lives in Oklahoma City. Here's Ken's website http://www.dejavuyorkies.com/home.php |
I am so sorry for your loss. I don't know of breeders in that area off hand but you can check AKC, breeders.net, and even here on YT. We have many great breeders! Good luck in your search. Big hug to you, and again sorry for your loss. |

Your little girl is adorable! I had heard about Glenda and we have been in contact by e-mail. She has family in for the holidays so it will be next week before I can discuss the puppies she has available. Thanks for the information. |
I'm real sorry for your loss. Time helps, but you never forget them. Read this OK breeders. http://www.yorkies.com/ There is another breeder on there. If you can't get Ken by email call him. Give it more than a couple of days. Insist on a healthy beautiful companion. |

1. Please don't decide on a pup until you fully research the breeder. 2. There is one breeder in OK that has horrible dogs. I don't mean physically horrible....but, genetic defeacts. Remember a pretty dog isn't necessarily a healthy one. 3. Check out the breeder's contract. If they only offer you a puppy instead of your money.....and then requesting you return the original pup, at your expense...run. 4. Not everyone that shows has great yorkies. Might be pretty on the outside... 5. Make sure your breeder will be there for you for the rest of that pups life.....You buy your breeder first, then your dog. It is a relationship. If you don't feel comfortable with the breeder, run the other way. 6. Remember all pups are cute, some breeders are counting on you falling in love with that cute little face. |
